    I'm back :D
Well behaved with drinking whilst away - no more than 2 drinks at a time :)
Spoke to OH about my drinking, what I planned to do - he just rolled his eyes and said he'd believe it when he see's his. I've got to learn to not talk to him about this - it jsut makes it worse.
I've got to do this alone :)

Just wanted to say hi everyone :) Not a drinker myself but I am the product of an alcoholic father and ex-husband (maybe there is truth in the saying that you marry your father!)

Sorry for butting in but I was just reading about finding things to fill in the time and thought I'd share something that an alcoholic friend finds helpful to keep her off the drink. She does cross-stitch... she makes the most beautiful pictures, really intricate designs with tiny stitches and she says it's not that she enjoys it but when she's doing it she has to focus completely and it stops her from thinking about drinking. She's been sober for about 4 years now and swears by it. So maybe something fiddly and intricate would be helpful to some of you too.

    Sorry if I've intruded..

Thanks EB, not sure I'm a cross-stich kind of guy;) Mrs Mac does them, that and TV and I am well ignored:o

Mrs Mac keeps saying I need a hobby, I do, I just don't know what:confused: I have a very low attention span, go lickity split for a time and then lose impetus:o

Hehe, mmmmm, you guys? You still all hate me!
Nah, it is nice to talk to people who understand, but I need someone who can be there for me, you know? I've not got that right now. I need a real person.
OH is a bit strange - he thinks that I'm making out I've got a problem when I haven't, but also doesn't believe that I'm going to be able to cut down. I can't win!
I've not spoken to my mum about this, but she has been questioning my drinking lately - asking if I've been over doing it and things. So she knows there is a problem, but I can't talk to her about it. Silly, I know. I want my last few months of my relationship with my Mum to be happy before I loose everything :o

Hi Ethel, of course you haven't intruded.
I'm not sure cross stiching is right for me though :D

I am in the middle of building something, but I'm waiting for some bits to come from France, so I've got piles of stuff everywhere  no room to do anything else, apart from tidy up.....

I've got to go and muck out the chickens.. been putting it off. Its messy.

Yep, thats me to a T as well

FG, maybe your relationship with your Mum could still be happy if you get help from her, you need someone to reply on, maybe it could be her?

You should get ducks instead Beer - ducks are all cute and fluffy and clean. One day I'm gonna have a pet duck.

I won't have a relationship with my mother in a few months probably, so can't rely on her :) I think the guilt I'd feel burdening her would outweigh any benefits. And she is too busy for me.

I'm a bit like that too I think.. how about those airfix models or ships in bottles or made out of matchsticks? My friend is obsessed with those soduko things as well.. I think she just does ANYTHING to keep her mind busy all the time.

I probaly am talking out of my rear end really because I'm not really in a position to be much help to you all.. was just reading a lil bit and thought about what my friend had told me. My dad and my ex as far as I know are both still drinking and have driven everone away from them so they weren't willng to help themselves as you all are and I take my hat off to all of you for facing up to it and trying :T

And thanks all of you for being so nice about my peeping in :)
