I know I only started posting on this thread yesterday but I have not once "shouted how beered up" I am. I have admitted I have a problem with alcohol and have received encouragement and ideas to help me try to tackle my problem.
That's what the threads aim is, and IME that is exactly what it's achieving.
I only came in to post a good night to you all before I go out. Keep safe everyone and have a good night whatever you get up to.
I just hope the thread is still here tomorrowThe beauty of a woman must be seen in her eyes, because that is the doorway to her heart, the place where love resides.

Eagle_1 wrote:Maybe you need a support group for families/friends of alcoholics ?
Obviously you are gonna see things from a slightly different angle compared to some other people from here. Alcoholism is going to affect you in a different way because you have to deal with a family member who abuses alcohol, more people here are the abusers (I think) if you see what im saying.
Its like me quitting smoking im gonna take more notice from someone who has been there compared to someone who has not gone through the same thing as me.
Im hoping that people who need help/support will not be put off from posting....keep hanging in there you lot, you are doing ok :T
hi eagle, and thanks for your post. as i post as someone who has (or should i say am living) lived with a partner with a problem, i have to say that the support and friendship i have been shown on THIS THREAD has helped me in a way no other "real life" friends have been able to. it doesn't matter what side of the fence you are on, if thats the right way to put it, it has been, and still is, a learning curve for all of us, and i value highly the friendships i have made on THIS THREAD. the respect that has been shown by all, and to all surpasses any of our differences, as i am sure others in my position will agree with. alcohol affects us all, and in a surprisingly similar way, i for one would not like to be isolated in a seperate thread.
