    That's just sounds wrong :(.

    A 9.9% variable rate windfall compared to GG's 23%+

You should ask for a recount, IMHO.

I've had my pension with SL for several years, having previously been with Equitable Life. Looks like I can really pick them.

It's a Stakeholder Pension and is not with-profits so I'm not entitled to a windfall. I didn't even know about this distinction and feel a bit miffed as I'd eagerly ripped open the envelope to see how much I would get if the vote was carried.

Why don't I qualify? I know I'm not a voting member, but why not? Was I badly advised? Am I right to feel aggrieved?

    Hi MiM,

You aren't necessarily right to feel aggrieved or to think you were badly advised.

An adviser couldn't have predicted a windfall and may have put you into a superior fund to the WP fund.

Many Equitable investors were shifted by advisers into the WP fund and saw their hopes subside again after 2002.

A windfall may only be small compensation for them - after all the late entry to Standard won't entitle them to much of a windfall.

I transfered a lump sum of £3474 back in feb 1986 into the with profits pension fund, i have not added to it.
in 2003 it was worth £25,278:cool:
in 2004 £23,557:eek: and 2005 19,759, so in 2-3 yrs it has fallen greatly

How many shares should i expect to recieve????? Bet it not anywhere near the fall.

There are other factors that could affect the calculation.
    1) I was 4 days short of 22 when I started my endowment (age).
    2) It was an 'early maturity option' thingy that would reach £30K in 18 years at which point I could have cashed in to clear my mortgage (so I was told). After 21 years its worth £19.5K.
    3) I haven't claimed for mis-selling.
    4) I don't smoke.
    5) I haven't missed a payment.

Even with these bits taken into account, I don't understand the differences.

    :)

I've read the awards and they do seem a little strange. I started a fifteen year policy for £10 per month 12 years ago and I'm getting 197 shares.

Compared to others I have done well, but is seems odd!

Do you mean 197 variable, so 382 in total?
