AA are a nightmare.I took an insurance out with them in 2014 for one year then cancelled renewing it,today they have again taken £130 out of my bank account without my permission, they are not being helpful on the phone, and are saying it could be 5 days before I receive a refund,as a disabled person,I can not afford this, and even if this gets sorted as it did a year ago,am worried this s now going to happen every year:(0

Call your bank for immediate refund not the AA, the money was never authorised for removal, the fact this will show on your account for the previous time they did this only goes to prove the AA are abusing your account details from a previous ended relationship.SO... now England its the Scots turn to say dont leave the UK, stay in Europe with us in the UK, dont let the tories fool you like they did us with empty lies... You will be leaving the UK aswell as Europe0 -
Has anyone had any problems with renewing the "plastic" driving licence? I went onto the gov.uk website last week to renew mine and, somehow, don't know how, I ended up with a private service agency (ADL Service or Advisearea.com) who initially charged me .90p for a copy of the licence application form. Today, they have taken £49 out of my bank account stating that I had signed up to their agency. I didn't, well at least now knowingly.
You hear about it with American visas, etc and the E111, but the DVLA.
Have complained and received an email that I "subscription has been cancelled" and the money will be refunded to me. They took it quickly, but will take 7 to 14 days to refund it!0 -
Yep...caught me today also. Purchased a DVL drivers lic. application from what I presumed to be a DVL site. Paid my 90 pence and received a confirmation and downloaded form from advisearea.com !!
Checked my c/card account later and found a charge for £49.00 marked 'recurring amount'
legaleo.co.uk send me an email stating that I have subscribed to their site for 3 days for you've guessed it - 90 pence. After 3 days a charge of £49.00 to be levied on my c/card . NO warning, no email confirmation. Needless to say I am not amused, however I have seen a similar scam on Easyjet website receive free coupons for £10.00 (per month) Hence the saying CAVEAT EMPTOR0 -
Good news. The £49 was credited back to my account today.:j0

What I'd your email provider? If it's Google it doesn't even do email receipts. Any way they are talking rubbish about using it as proof. It would hold up in court as much as software EULAs would.0

Hi All - First time of posting - has anyone come across this scenario before please? I have just received an email from Virgin Pure saying there appears to be a payment issue on my account and can I either contact them or set up a direct debit. Tbh, I thought I had a DD with them (we have a water bar filter machine which we pay £20 a month for). So I called them thinking I might have this month's payment outstanding to be told I owe them £340 as the last payment taken was in 2014. This dates back to when my debit card was lost and I cancelled it. This is the first time they have contacted me. I don't have £340 to pay them. Does anyone know where I stand?
Thanks in advance0 -

Sorry but you owe the money fair and square.
I can't comment on why it has taken them so long to contact you and the only advice I can give you is for you to contact them and discuss and agree a repayment plan.
It might be a good idea to set this up as a D/D so if you lose a card in future this situation will not arise again.0 -
I opened a CPA with Equifax for my partner at the time's credit file. We split in August 2014 and I only had a couple of months left on my debit card so I presumed that they would stop being able to take the payment after this card expired. My card has changed on around 3 occasions since this was set up but I've only just noticed that they'd continually took this £9.99 monthly since back then. I rang their customer service to try and gain a refund but they won't speak to me as its my ex-partners credit file. He's rang and now they've said there is no active account. Any advice on what I can do or whether it's worth trying to recoup the money they've been taking all this time??0

I discovered a PC security company have been taking money from me since 2009 for a product I never purchased. I never noticed as it came off at the time I was doing Xmas shopping. My Bank have opened a fraud investigation. Shocked to find out that this continued despite card being changed due to Visa Account updater. Called the company to ask why and was told he was trying to start process for refund. I have no computer skills and did no know he was remotely accessing my PC he never said he was going to do this - I asked him to disconnect and closed down my computer. Another engineer called today and said remote access was done to check my PC for their product - is this legal. Have written to all concerned. any advice?0
