£20 free - HSBC credit card

As you know this account from HSBC works much like the 5% paying account over at First Direct. Both suffer from the clause relating to no interest paid on balances in any calendar month of a withdrawal. And you can only have one of each - not two or more. That's one reason why I haven't taken up the First Direct account despite having their current account.
But if you did have one of each account (one with FD - one with HSBC) you could link them 'instantly' I believe through the current account so that withdrawals from either could effectively be made on the first of any month by moving the balance (less £1) from that account straight into the other and taking out the rest as cash?.....under construction.... COVID is a [discontinued] scam0 -
I applied for a HSBC card back in February - am still waiting for the card, and have stopped phoning as I can't abide the call centre they use.. the card was going to be a stooze, but I just can't be bothered now!! Grrr

Just letting you all know that I applied for this on the Monday and received a phonecall on Friday to say I had been accepted, but only half the BT I wanted, did I still want them to proceed?
I said yes, so I'm hoping this means it will all go through before the BT fee hits in, I guess I should have asked them that!0 -

Nor me but I sent them a secure message and they have confirmed it is being processed. Must be a backlog I guess.DFW Nerd 0350 -

Did anyone actually end up getting one of these cards and the £20?
My wife and I both applied and we both returned all the relevant paperwork etc etc.............we both subsequently received identical letters saying until they had spoken to us in person they weren't processing the request?
Which is something of a mystery as we both have a perfect credit history and we're mortgage-free.
I'm wondering if they ever had any intention of honouring the offer? You'll always miss 100% of the shots you don't take - Wayne Gretzky
Any advice that you receive from me is worth exactly what you paid for it. Not a penny more or a penny less.0 -
