Tesco Clubcard Points Bonus Discussion

This might be opening a can of worms, but does anyone happen to have a note of what the various Tesco credit cards (and the Clubcard Plus card) are currently offering in Clubcard points?
I've just been told that my Platinum card accrues points as follows:
Tesco spending - 3 points per £2
Non-Tesco spending - 1 point per £2
But when this card is (compulsorily) replaced later this year by another of their cards it drops to:
Tesco spending - 5 points per £4
Non-Tesco spending - 1 point per £4
That sounds like a pretty poor deal to me, and I'll be off elsewhere like a rocket.0 -
be used for as i often see them for sale also on ebay. thanks0

Can I please ask where you heard this?
We've had Tesco Platinum cards for several years and I've recently 'heard' a few things about upcoming changes (on this and other non-Tesco websites) but have yet to receive anything from Tesco in this regard.2.22kWp Solar PV system installed Oct 2010, Fronius IG20 Inverter, south facing (-5 deg), 30 degree pitch, no shadingEverything will be alright in the end so, if it’s not yet alright, it means it’s not yet the endMFW #4 OPs: 2018 £866.89, 2019 £1322.33, 2020 £1337.07

just wondered as had thought that the cut off point was 9th may as this is what originally they had told me in the store. thanksI haven't received mine either and my points are still showing on my account indicating they have yet to process them!Yes, cut off was 9th May, believe the mailings go out this week - after all the points have got to be collated, statements prepared, data sent to printers, and then to Royal Mail.
No doubt, soon the receipt figure will be updated to the points since the 9th.
Moreover, if you didn't change your address with them before the 9th - the vouchers will go to the old address!
Have just checked the website and my clubcard balance has dropped overnight - presumably means the vouchers are on their way.2.22kWp Solar PV system installed Oct 2010, Fronius IG20 Inverter, south facing (-5 deg), 30 degree pitch, no shadingEverything will be alright in the end so, if it’s not yet alright, it means it’s not yet the endMFW #4 OPs: 2018 £866.89, 2019 £1322.33, 2020 £1337.07

Told this over the phone when I called them a couple of days ago.
I phoned the Clubcard line first, but they didn't know the way points accrued on individual cards. They suggested I phone the banking side, and they had all the details for each type of card.
At the moment, they say, points are being given as I recently posted, but that changes at the expiry date of your Platinum Card when they replace it with a different type of card (presumably a standard Tesco one). At that point the number of points will drop (and I shall close the account).0 -

The Platinum card offering 3 points per £2 was only special offer one, I have my card for quite a long time now and mine always was 5 points per £4 in Tesco spending (I would like to point out that it is 4 normal Tesco clubcard points and 1 for the credit card = adds up to 5, but the original 4 you will get even without the credit card).
I know what you mean by being poor deal, my M&S offers me 1 point for every £2 spent anywhere and 1 for 1 at M&S.
But then I cannot exchange M&S for 4x the value to restaurants... So it all comes and goes you know... I personally currently collect Tesco (to boost my Airmiles) but otherwise mainly use M&S card for personal spend and Tesco just for family spend:). Just to get a nice top or dress (or two) every year for free:).
(And pls noone lecture me on "it's not 4x the value you know" - I don't live in the city so I cannot get to Pizza Express on the weekday when other offers run so for me it is 4x the value as most offers do not include weekends).0 -
We had the original Mastercard from years ago, with the higher rate of points earning. This was then changed to a Finest, a while back, can't remember when. This card has now been replaced with the black, Tesco Finest World Mastercard, which still gives the same points as the original.
I was under the impression that the platinum Finest cards were being replaced with black Finest World cards. BTW, when the 'Finest' was changed to 'Finest World' we also got 650 points as a bonus.0
