Would have been nice to have a free phone advice number, or links to CAB, CCCS, national debtline, although they may be on the recorded msg on the 0845 number, still think they would have done more "good" if they immediately followed the programme

Maybe this will make other collections companies sit up and take note and perhaps change their practices.

Cartainly knowledge is power but i fear people with serious debt may shy away from this program as i know i would have before my BR.

Very true, I was thinking that myself... there was a time I would have turned over rather than watch.

Can your debts be still sold on to one of these companies once you are bankrupt?

They can, but they still have no right to demand payment from you.

If they buy a debt covered by a bankruptcy order, then they just have to get in the queue with the rest of the creditors to see if the OR/trustee ever pays anything out of your estate. That is the only way they are entitled to anything on the debt.

That guy should've been sacked, I don't care what the company said at the end...he was lying to customers and generally being a prat.

Also...how the hell do they get away with lying and saying theyre a solicitor? It's blatantly to frighten people, it's not on at all.

So they should be contacting your OR rather than you?
