Am I alone in this?
Nope. I thank everyone....even those that don't deserve it! I have also been known to apologise for things that have nothing to do with me

Always thank the bus driver, except for one time when I rang the bell, he sailed past my stop and when I said "I wanted to get off there!" he said "Well, you should have rang the bell then!" so there was a bit of a row, and I just said "Ok, whatever!"
I thank the postman if I see him (I don't usually see him unless he comes on Saturday morning with a parcel) and people in shops, I hold doors open for people, give up my seat etc.
The rudest person I ever saw was a woman on a bus - an old man was standing in the aisle, it had been puring with rain so he was wet, and nobody offered him a seat. I was also standing, or I would have. Eventually a young girl tapped him on the arm, I thought she was going to offer him her seat, but instead she said "Excuse me...you're dripping water on me!"
I was gobsmacked.0 -
I don't ever really see the postie, but I always thank bus drivers (and I live in London
)... I often get funny looks for doing so from other passengers, but heh! April Grocery Challenge £81/£1200 -
My postman only lives round the corner.
He only delivers the mail and has never brought me a bus driver.0 -
seem to thank everyone, good manners cost nothing..even it seems old fashioned now.0

I always do - the other day the council arrived up to collect an abandoned trolley I had reported on 'fixmystreet' so I called out thank you to them too - they looked so surprised.0

Yup, I do.
TygerPlease note I have a cognitive disability - as such my wording can be a bit off, muddled, misspelt or in some cases i can miss out some words totally...0 -
