Shake and Vac can cause a lot of skin irritation in cats & dogs and is best avoided around pets. My Dyson is 9 years old, has had the power cord fixed twice but otherwise has coped well with assorted cats, dogs and kids.

Hi Iv a Henry which is really good for picking up hairs but it is bulky to carry up and down stairs . I use rubber gloves to pick up hairs off the furniture and it works a treat.

Dont you spend a fortune on replacement bags for the miele?
The cat and dog hairs are so bulky that I'm always changing the bag on Henry and its bigger i believe.I would liove a bagless cat and Dog miele if one exists, let me know please! I'd be seriously tempted. i think that a lot of the smell comes from the bag.
    Arty.

:o I empty the bags and reuse them :o

I bought a VAX upright SWIFT PET 1800WATT last year and its great! Very easy to manouver and the pet brush is fantastic for the stairs, my cat loves rolling about on them and so they get very hairy! The amount of fluff and hair that it removes from my home is quite staggering! I can really recommend it for less than £80!

    CC limits £26000

    Long term CC debt £0

Total low rate loan debt £3000

    Almost debt free feeling, priceless.

Ex money nightmare, learnt from my mistakes and never going back there again, in control of my finances for the first time in my adult life and it feels amazing.

I agree with the suggestion of a Vax, mines a Turbo Force Zero and gets rid of the hair from my two long haired girlies

OH wanted a new vc a couple of years back. Also said she wanted a Dyson. I was sceptical as always and indicated that they were over priced and hyped up. OH is terribly house proud and there is hardly a speck of dust to be seen. I am however humbled and proved wrong by the amount of "stuff" which is contained in the see through tank on the Dyson even after only a couple of weeks vacuuming.

It is indeed,a very efficient machine.

I have Dyson for a couple of years now and it is great. No loss of suction, easy to empty, no bags to play with.

Thats it you see..there are just two of us and spotless house and yet the tank still has a collection of very very fine power grey dust plus the odd bit of fluff. Strange.

we had 3 dogs, but due to a massive cancer my gsd is in doggy heaven now, and the old westie was old,
we have one dog and 13 cats, two are maine coons,
have used vax pet, dyson and electrolux, all great, but i do go through them, thay have to work very hard.
    i liked dyson the best.

i use bi carb of soda, with a little bit of essential oil in, leave for couple of days for oil to dry,
then use instead of shake n vac,
love the cats, but boy do they leave alot of hair around.
