Five Cats Need Vacuum Cleaner Which Gobbles Up Our Hairs

Options
My Electrolux is unable to cope with five cats (two long hair) in spite of regular groomings. Wondered about Dyson but have had in past and fall to pieces within 18 months. Recommendations, please. Thanks ever so much, David

  • I think Dysons are drama queens.

Get a Henry Vacum Cleaner. Costs £90 but it will last forever and it will pick up everything. I think you can also buy a special pet hair attachment for it.
Most professional cleaners have these ones for a reason!
Dyson's are good when they are brand new but everytime you use them they get worse and worse until eventually they break.
Honestly get a Henry your not be dissapointed.

    Hi,

Just wanted to defend the Dyson!! I bought an Animal Dyson 5 years ago and mine is still going strong! I have 6 dogs and 4 cats and hoover the house every day! Yes it was expensive at over 300 pounds but comes with some good attachments, plus when one of my attachments did break, i called Dyson and they sent me a replacement free of charge!

Just wanted to give my opinion on Dyson's!! Maybe i've just been lucky! :T

i have had my Miele for almost 10 years - brilliant machine - as powerfulas it was the day i got it. that combined with my Furminator (purchased recently) is just superb.

I have a Henry hound . good strong indestructible machine_ sadly! I'd love it to" break" opps silly me! so that i can relace it.
Its really heavy and although I replaced the hose and charcoal filter at great expense, it omitts a truly horrible doggy smell when I use it. the house looks cleaner but smells worse after vacuuming.
    Rant over!

Have you tried Shake n Vac or other similar stuff. You can also buy fresheners that go in the bag? We use Shake n Vac and never have a dog smell problem. Although maybe we don't notice it anymore!

    Another vote for Henry here.

Shake and vac is a killer for vacuum cleaners It will eventually clog up your mechanism.
And just an observation, you dont have a dog smell problem because you live in it. Ask a total stranger to walk in your house and get them to tell yu if you hav a dog or not
make the most of it, we are only here for the weekend.

    I've been Money Tipped!
I've had btho Henry and Miele cat and dog, and frankly, the Miele is worth the extra money. Miele after care is also very good, although ours put up with substantial abuse without damage on occasion we have had to have repairs (not the fault of the machine) and the repairs have been excellent.

My one tiny gripe with any vacuum, is that the rotational bruches were easier to clean out.

What matters most is how well you walk through the fire

Dont you spend a fortune on replacement bags for the miele?
The cat and dog hairs are so bulky that I'm always changing the bag on Henry and its bigger i believe.I would liove a bagless cat and Dog miele if one exists, let me know please! I'd be seriously tempted. i think that a lot of the smell comes from the bag.
