Okay - I've done it :D I can't imagine there is much hope, but who knows. At least it would be a really rigourous test and review. I'll let you all know.

I have been meaning to tell you for ages - they had Peppa Pig boys clothes in Next :D
    ...
Question about stairgates - at the top of our stairs we have an open landing with shaped spindles (no big corner post) - any suggestions for a gate?
we have some of the next stuff but as Mel said, its george not peppa
we don't have a gate on the stairs because we have a big 'C' shaped landing with stairs in the middle, I didn't want to have Chris 'trapped' on his side of the landing unable to get to us (partly because if he was I'd have to get out of bed to get him all the time) and we can't have a gate accross the top. Its never been a problem though, Chris has fell down the stairs once and I was stood right next to him at the time :o
Oh - one last question. I need to get a stairgate soon. No stairs here, but I want one to put between the living room and kitchen. I'd kind of prefer one that doesn't have a bar across the bottom to trip over, although I realise we will soon get used to it being there if we have one. I don't know if there are pros/cons of the different kinds though. Any recomendations? (Our own property, so no problem about screwing things into door frames etc.)
we have a lindam one that was cheap in the asda baby event, no bottom rail, screws into the wall (we had no choice as its the only one that would fit in our aparently tiny doorway  looks normal sized to me!)
Haha I know he lookied like a right grunger at one point! :rotfl:
I have no idea about eye colour, the health visitor told me it can be 6 monhts, but looking at Ryan I cant see them changing.
I remeber when Aston was born I asked the nurse at the hospital if his eyes would stay blue and she said only if my Mum had blue eyes  random!
Ryan has blue eyes yet neither OH or I do lol
hmm my mum does have blue eyes! I have brown/green OH has blue/grey Chris's are brown though

Going back a day, and it is only a day even if it's about 20 pages :o, the talk of home grocery deliveries.

I tried Tesco and it was handy, but I found because I went against what we did as a family, it didn't go down too well.

It's not set in stone, but generally, In spring and summer, on a Monday , we get together to think of all the things we need for the following week. I let them think of what we need, then things I think of I try and give them clues, so it makes it a bit more fun. They like going around the cupboards to see what is running out and what is missing etc. The list can be added too over the week, then on a Saturday or Sunday, we go to one or two supermarkets, dependant on what I find is on offer online and buy it. With Iceland, we tend to ask for home delivery anyway.

In the winter, as the weather is bad, we'll stick to online and a small amount of store shopping when the weather isn't too bad. We still stick to the same way of writing the lists, but I go online to order. Then the excitement of it arriving when they are here, or the excitement when they come home from school.

Any small bits/errors and we have a Tesco Extra a couple of streets away and we put on our coats, scarves and gloves , dependant on season and walk down together.

I find by including the girls, involving them, asking them to add some things up, it keeps their brains ticking over and starts preparing them for when they are older. They don't get all they ask for, or all they think we need, and their have been funny requests and suggestions, but we have a good time and have put fun into shopping.

I know that's not always practical for some, especially full time workers, parents of smaller children, but that's what we do.

I've not tried any other than Tesco/Iceland for home delivery. I must try Sainsburys at some point.

Anyhow just my two pennies, hope it wasn't too boring :D

MotM, my DH is very much on your wavelength and really isn't sure about our baby's name being in the public arena, so you're not alone there :)

I'm glad i'm not alone. Maybe it's a man thing

Fair enough, i've seen alot of posters using names. Maybe I should use DD's but at the moment I use ages, although that may confuse folk.

My little one's only 13 days old - I've been here for about a week :)

It does feel a bit like going to big school, especially since all I seem to have are stupid first-timer questions :o

Well, we can be newbies together.

I'm at the opposite end - the girls are all 8+, so all the newborn things have gone and are in the past. It's hormonal girls i'm at now, something I never experienced being a man :rotfl:

I still feel stupid for asking some questions though, even just basic things about College and Facebook :o

Thanks feely, that's pretty much how I lie with her, good to know it's got a name lol... I just remembered actually, when Aimee was a baby and I still had SPD, I used to lie her on 2 pillows to feed from the top booby so I didn't have to move... I'd forgotten about that! (terribly naughty off me too!)
I was gonna suggest to feed on the otherside have her upside down.. as in her feet near your head - I'm not sure if it would work logistically I mean:confused: let me know if it you try it tho!

oooh sami, I like the feeling of getting told off for NOT being frugal :) normally I get:rolleyes: that expression for being 'so tight you'd eat the bum off a low-flying duck!' :D

elle, I was reflecting earlier about all your appointments and I just wanted to encourage you to bear all of those in mind when you fill in the dreaded DLA forms (if you're still thinking of that!) it can be easy to forget all those many extra things that you and craig do for rhys, but you should be remunerated for it :) You probably know that already tho!

hope the sling affair was good, and that you all had your best ones and sami's mse dylon version was much praised :)
:rotfl::rotfl:at the duck comment!!! I spotted some very stylish toiletry bags in tesco today all around the £5 mark  is that how much they cost?? the basic bag I got in H&M was £1 I think

Elle have you had help with the forms (I think you said HV but do they know their stuff in terms of what to answer?) I saw a program on BBC1 this morning 'Saints and Scroungers' ther was a 'sait' from the CAB who helpped someone get more DLA because the parent hadn't answered the questions in the secret magic way :rolleyes:

is anyone pals with skinty in real life? I wish one of us could drop off a cherry teat dummy, it's so annoying she has to wait 10 days, when it could really help!
I have no idea why she needs to wait for a cherry soother because you can buy them in most boots, tesco, asda  (but Hypnonu knows her in RL)

    Hi all :)

Well, we were kept at the hospital for three hours, "waiting for the doctor". Turns out she was waiting for the results before coming to see us and when she did she didn't look at Rhys so why they couldn't have told me over the phone I'm not sure  Anyway, calcium should be between 2.0 and 2.7, and this time last week it was 3.3, falling to 3.26 then 3.21 and today 3.16, so going down gradually. Got to go back on Thursday for more - fun fun fun! :o

In good news, we've cracked the 6lb barrier :j Now 6lb 1.5oz :D Bumped into a couple of the neonatal nurses whilst we were there and they all say he's looking good :) He's still wolfing down the milk too.

Back at the hospital tomorrow afternoon for the kidney scan, then Thursday for the bloods. Also meant to say that second appointment to see the consultant came through for next Monday :) I had thought about the appointments weezl thankyou :) It's not just the time, it's the car parking charges too  And, can you believe, they have FIVE parent and child spaces in front of the dedicated Family Services (maternity and children) building and no more at the main entrance! I'm dreading tomorrow - the scan appointment is right in the middle of visiting hours :(

Oh, back in a bit - screaming baby and no EBM in the fridge!

yay on 6lbs!!! He is smaller than Amber that is hard to beleive, but he is doing really well. Good news about the calcium levels, hopefully slow and steady means they will stay down?

And once you get DLA and tax credits you might be able to get the travelling and parking costs back??

Good luck for tomorrow, think you might need it....

Yep definitely, my dh used to get annoyed with the fact that I had Cheshire in my profile:rolleyes:
Fair enough, i've seen alot of posters using names. Maybe I should use DD's but at the moment I use ages, although that may confuse folk.

Sorry if I sounded blunt, dh was shooting zombies (on the PS3:cool:) and baby was whinging and 'distracting' him:mad:
Yes quite a few of us use names, that is mainly because a fair few of us have chatted since being pregnant (on a pregnancy thread on this site) So have had many, many conversations about our name choices for when our babies are born...therefore once we have come over to this thread, we have announced our final choice:D
I tend to mostly use ds1, ds2, ds3/Kai because I have three boys so it is easire fo people to distinguish which age child I am talking about....However in your case it may be just as easy to use the age of the child. if you said dd5 I would probably have to stare at your sig for an age to work out how old she is:rotfl:
