    Hi Elle,

How old is Rhys now? There's a big development/growth spurt around 16-20 weeks which is probably why.

Not looking forward to next week my mum's away and Katie is going to a childminder friend of hers for 4 days - no one other than family has every looked after her! She's been a couple of times this week and had a whale of a time but it might be different when it's mummy leaving her there.

I'm also stressing about the dog, it's currently undergoing behaviour modification for separation anxiety and I'm having to put her in kennels during the day as she will wreck the house if left home alone.

Does anyone else's toddlers have little things that they like to do?
    DD self imposed chores are:
Feeding the animals (3 cats 1 dog)
Switching on the washing machine & dishwasher
Getting things out of the fridge when I'm cooking
Helping to unpack the supermarket shopping.

Hope everyones well, congrats to those that need it and hugs to everyone.

I'm sorry but I had to laugh about your dog, sounds very ammerican. I believe dogs should be kept outside with a buddy dog ;)

Chris goes mental if I press go or open the microwave or switch off the oven timer - there his jobs apparently

Do you do the shove boob in mouth move? When Ed is a bit bouncy that occasionally works but generally I sit there with my boob out until he gets a clue :rotfl:

Too right I do! We'd be there for hours on end if I didn't! :o  Oddly he always manages to latch on to my top in the right place, but as soon as I move it, he decides his own hand, two inches off, or my collarbone are better places to try.. errr no!
  • There goes our routine for today - Izzy has been asleep on my lap for an hour and a half - obviously needed it, but who knows what time I will get her to bd tonight! Never mind, at least it's saturday tomorrow so I can leave dh in charge ad have a nap at some point if I need one!

Alice likes to help. She loves cleaning and has her own feather duster because she was always taking mine. One of her favourite jobs is getting the butter out and putting it away but that is because she likes to stick her fingers in and eat it.

I find that the more they sleep, the more they need to sleep! It might not be as bad as you expect.

Today Benjamin has been mostly eating baby rice and strawberry yoghurt and homemade courgette and green bean mush :D He is loving it!!

I bought a butternut squash in Tesco earlier - I couldn't help thinking that only weaning mothers buy them :D

I am still scared when I look at the packets/jars/tins of baby food though - the amount of crap that is in some of them is shocking

  • Weezl - I got my 5 month babycentre email today (YAY - happy 5 months Benjamin :T) and it said that the key to sitting up unaided is good head control. So more tummy time should work for Fergie!

(I reckon he will sit when he is good and ready though ;))

SB - it's because it's more than retraining she needs, she's having to learn how to relax and that's it's ok for her to be on her own - she's on anti-depressants too to reduce her stress levels.

The best bit is all meds and behaviourist visits are covered by my pet insurance under vet fees which helps as it's a long road we're on with her.

Elle - there are stages at 3 weeks and 6 weeks to so bang in the middle for either of those as well.

MFD - the junk the jars is why my DD never had any - she did have packet breakfast cereals just because of the lower salt and sugar levels - she now chooses her own breakfast (cornflakes, weetabix or porridge).

Just waiting for DD to wind down, she had a long sleep this afternoon after a bike ride, with Daddy and dog, to the cash machine so isn't tired yet.

Re Butternut Squash - Katie had baby and loved it but as DH is so fussy I have to disguise plenty of stuff already without adding to it. Need to try the stew idea on him.
Proud to be dealing with my debts
