Go to tesco or don't go to tesco that is the question??

Go to Tesco.. late night shopping is fab :D

ETA: Have you seen the news story on the right about Clubcard? Now 2 points per £1 :)
  • Got izzy off to sleep at 9:15 in the end. I made chutney (was meant to be caremelised onion and beetroot today.. wasn't folling a recipe, so it's not quite turned out as planned, but still nice though :) ). DH has made us posh scrambled eggs on toast, and we have wine too. Luxury!

A couple of weeks ago we had a 'cook and eat' session at Booby Club....where a corner of the room was sectioned off and we all took turns to chop a bit/cook a bit etc to try to promote healthy eating and home cooking - an initiative from the Council which is all very laudable...

...except that we cooked sausage and pasta

They said it was suitable from 7 months - can you give a 7 month old sausage?? I would be worried about the salt content.

I was just flicking through the booklet they gave us and there are 2 tinned tuna dishes (a pasta and a rice stir fry) a veg pasta, pizza, potato wedges (which add salt!), 2 curries and a pilaf (whatever a pilaf is!!!)

    Not the healthiest foods!!

And there is a list at the back which defines some words 'that you may not understand'

Chop; Top and Tail; Bring to the Boil; Simmer; Pierce; Defrost; Tbsp; Tsp; Florets; Dice.

Undecided as to whether I praise them for trying or I am scared the whole thing

    Just read that tesco article
A family that currently spends £5,000 a year at Tesco would receive 5,000 Clubcard points. These are worth £50 to spend in store or £200 in Rewards vouchers.
:eek:I spent over £5000 in tesco last year!

    hey girls.

scruffy -- if you go to tesco - would you look out for the tesco baby event deals for me!?? i was in my local tesco today, and unless I completely imagined it, they didnt have the huggies 9pack wipes for £6 anywhere!! -- who was it that mentioned this? did i miss it or something!??? was very sad when i didnt grab a bargain!
also, didnt get the M&S meal deal today which i wanted too - not a good day all round!

    more babyrelated =
Christopher is being bottlefed. He was taking 3oz, yesterday he was unsettled after every feed, so today i upped him to 4oz - was fine, and drained bottles this afternoon this evening at dinner, but now at his last fed at 9, he only took 1 1/2oz and is now FAST asleep!!!!!!!! i couldnt wake him up to make him take the rest, tried all the tricks in the book, changing nappy, taking a layer of clothes off, cleaning his face.....nothing worked. I just dont know what time to guesstimate he will wake again. Oh is out tonight, and i just feel sooooooo tired tonight, btu i dont want to go to bed now, sleep for an hour and have to get up again.
    am i moaning....sorry.

another question -- anyone know of a way to stop him gulping his milk!!?? gets him soo windy and then its hard to wind him and he gets a sore little upset tummy and i feel so bad....:(

I suppose a quality sausage would be ok?? more to the point when I was weaning Chris they said something as lumpy as that was only suitable from 9mths

apart from the adding salt they'res nothing wrong with thoses dishes IMO :o I think also they are aiming at people who eat those things already so it's not scary to someone who doesn't cook.
Pilaf is a rice thing I think

Anyone noticed the pampers sensitive wipes bring your LO's out in a rash? Took me a while to click, as I thought it was her nappies giving her a red bum, but now they have been mostly eliminated, I realised it's the wipes, they are fine for wiping her face/hands, but if I give her bum/upper legs a wipe with them, she breaks out in what looks like a blotchy red rash.

Don't get that problem with the normal ones or the extra sensitive? I think they are extra sensitive, can't remember but they smell loooooovely!

Just had a horrible few hours, she would not even taste the spaghetti, shouting and taking paddys, must admit I lost my temper and sent her to her bed, where I could here her crying and forcing herself to cough, obv trying to make herself sick, I know that trick, did it myself as a kid!

So she's fast asleep now, and hasn't eaten a thing since about 3pm. Great! This morning she woke us up at 4am because she was hungry, so OH made her some food - a bun with chocolate spread? !!!!!!! Oh and I looked at the buns this morning and they were green and furry - Feel sick knowing she probs ate that, he is a douche.
