Gah, hospital have just phoned - calcium still too high, more blood tests tomorrow!
Also needs another kidney scan, which we were expecting. We thought it was odd they didn't mention doing one yesterday but figured it was only six weeks since the last one so maybe they need a few months between instead, but now Notts want Grimsby to do it (budgets?) and it'll be sometime next week.0 -

Did you book somewhere MacSmiler? I sent off for Benjamins passport the other day in the vain hope that we can squeeze something in before hubbys next big project starts up
Still not actually booked anything - we're looking and looking and just waiting until we see the right thing! If it's not right then we are going to go up north
Can I ask why you don't want to take the bugaboo? Baby is likely to be spending a lot of time in the pushchair on hols so why not take the one you chose in the first place? The only time that you need it to travel is on the plane and you just leave it folded up at the bottom of the steps...I don't think that there is a size restriction.
Whatever you get I would consider buying a carry bag for it - otherwise you will be fuming if it gets thrown about and scratched/dirty by the airline baggage people.
I've hear from a lot of people (and will check at time of booking), but as the bugaboo doesn't fold in a one piece (seat somes off and wheels fold in half) generally they have to go in the hold. I'm not happy about putting my super expensive pram in - even in the bag/cover. Am I weirdI'll have to look really closely at travel insurance to see if they cover any damage caused to it. Also, if it goes in the hold we will have to carry her around the airport. And it isn't something I would want to get lost.....and be without at either end.
Have you thought about a car-seat? Are you hiring a car (in which case I guess you hire the seats too?) or transferring by bus (a worry without a carseat) or even worse a taxi
Also thought about this. We plan on hiring a car and are currently thinking we'll take our own as we know it's never been in an accident etc plus I know how to fit it!!!;) However, not all airlines let you take them on board so may have to put it in the hold - in which case will be using a LOT of bubble wrap:rotfl::o
I still won't take Benjamin in a taki here...I just don't trust them to drive my baby around - even if I fix his carseat in myself
we've not been in a taxi yet....I'm taking my P&T on hols, most other parents were taking the 'big' pram last time we went too - this was skiing though so we'll be pushing him through snow (hopefully!) and up n down mountains
If we were going to somewhere with no need to go all terrain I'd probably just take our normal buggy which is a cosatto diablo I love it as its suitable from birth it's a bit 'nicer' than the cheaper ones that are 6mths+
If going somewhere hot you need to consider how breathable the fabric is (or get a nice sheepskin) and also I'd avoid black if possible that's one problem we have with ours is the sun heats up the black fabric
Another problem with our bugaboo - we have black fleece fabric/hood etc and a new set of canvas covers would cost us as much as a light weight buggy., plus the angles etc mean it's parasol isn't the best.......I can't decide what to do really. Plus although they market the fact that the child can be in teh bugaboo till they are 4, I can't see my LO in it that long so was thinking a bigger 'pushchair/buggy' style might be more useful when she's bigger and not relying to heavily on being pushed about all the timeI've just been reading a thread on mumsnet about how often people bath their children...
Anyone want to share?
here the min time between baths has been a week and the max was nearly 3 weeks:D
Annabel gets bathed every evening as part of her routine. We don't use bath products very often. We wet her hair most nights, but only wash it with shampoo once a week or so.r.mac, you are so wise and wonderful, that post was lovely and so insightful!0 -
I was an 8 before my first, then a 10 after the next 2 were born, and then back to an 8 after Darach, now after cliodhna I would be probably a 12 or 14. I dont know as I havent got any clothes that fit :rotfl:apart from my stretchy maternity stuff. I was always a 14 - 16 in tops though
.
All the talk of sheepskin has reminded me I have sheepskin strap covers to list on ebay, but im at a loss how to describe them. Are they called strap covers, they cover the straps of pram and carseats. I cant seem to find any on ebay to get some ideas.

Every night here, since birth but it's part of bedtime routine. Every night it's warm bath, jarmies on, milk and into bed.
The boys have a bath every night too, although I'm saving up to get the bathroom done so they can have a shower each, as they've said they would prefer that. The main bathroom isn't tiled, apart from a 1 tile high splashback around the top of the bath. We've got a shower cubicle in our bathroom, but I don't let them in there as they manage to soak the whole room :rolleyes:Here I go again on my own....0 -

ok confession time:
We went to Jo jingles. it was ok - really busy as it ws a festival session, rather than a normal class. It was a bit fraught trying to leave the hall - LO whingeing and pulling my hair/clothes and being very wriggly. Put her in the car and drop car key - so put it on the seat (you all know what's coming next), strapped LO into car seat, close door and go round to drivers door and uh oh.....
......the car has locked itself......*looks for sobbing smilie*
boot was also locked so couldn't climb through. Thankfully I was with a good mummy friend who kept me calm enough to call DH and remember that she was in a safe place, fed and would be ok even if she cried (which she did). DH was brilliant and jumped into a taxi and came and got us (he had the other keys on him) so the problem was solved in about half an hour.
I was good and kept calm but when we got home a blubbed like a babyI feel sooo guilty, even though I don't know how the car locked itself. It was just an accident and she's totally totally fine. And she's not mentally scarred for life
r.mac, you are so wise and wonderful, that post was lovely and so insightful!0
