just read it, Sounds a touch traumatic

I wish everyone could have a nice simple birth like I had with my boys.
You sound happy and settled now though:T
Thank you! :smileyhea We seem to be getting along OK! Can't believe how fast the time is going, we've nearly done a full week with Daddy at work :T
I don't there is an unusually high proportion of traumatic births, just that these are the one most likely to be commented on IYSWIM - anyway, we all know pregnancy and birth don't follow any rules

I think the ones that had an uneventful birth don't think its interesting enough and so don't add theirsfeelinggood wrote: »I was thinking, reading the story thread, that most births seem traumatic
I wonder why that is?
Thats why I made sure I put mine on
anything that wasn't how I wanted/planned was either because it was out of everyones hands (like Ed pooing and having cord round neck) or because I wasn't clued up on it (delivering Chris's placenta).
Also that with Ed 2 things that often sound scary and can spell disaster don't always.Millie's_Mum wrote: »Ladybird/Sami, are you talking about shop and scan? i'm on that if your question is something I can answer?
its the neilson factfinders one, is that what you do or is yours TNS?

Because hospitals are understaffed and (in my experience at least - I know it's not true of all) midwives/doctors don't follow evidence based practice? Because women don't educate themselves thoroughly about birth before hand as they expect the professionals to know what is best? Because husbands aren't well enough educated about birth to advocate for their wife when she is not in a position to argue the point herself?feelinggood wrote: »I was thinking, reading the story thread, that most births seem traumatic

Hiya
Little munchkin had her first jabs yesterday and slept on and off until 4:30am. For 2.5 hrs she then lay next to me in bed with her hand on her head groaning like a little old lady. Was I a cruel mummy to laugh at her? She slept for an hour and then woke up all smiles, so no harm done!!
I whisked her off to booby group for the first time but I was the only one there until the last 40 mins when one more woman arrived. The BF woman told me my latch etc were fine and I seemed very well informed about BF ( Thanks guys (and particularly Krystal)!!:o). I felt bad that there was nothing for them to do so I just asked questions about expressing and bras etc even though I knew the answers!!!
With 3 councillors and just little ole me I felt like a right numpty but felt like I had to stay to the end.
Its the first time I have breast fed outside of my home though so i'm pleased I overcame that hurdle:j
At 8 weeks Leila is 10 pounds and on 25th centile for weight and 75th centile for height. Her jeans are falling down but they are 0-3 months. I also cut a few feet off her baby gros and now she looks like a ragamuffin when she goes to bed!
Silly Question time:
Do babies cry proper tears only I've never seen Leila cry tears although it might be that she isnt left long enough.:pProud Mummy to Leila aged 1 whole year:j0 -
