But if she will settle and sleep while she's on you then I would just make the most of it and sit cuddling her for a while, worry about putting her down a bit later when she's more settled... She just needs to know you're close at the minute and she will settle down as she gets a bit bigger and starts to get an idea of what life outside the womb is like... I know my first 6-8 weeks with Caitlyn were pretty horrific, if she wasn't feeding or sleeping she was crying... But gradually she started to be a bit more relaxed between feeding and crying and sleeping and crying... And now she's 12 weeks she's quite chilled... She does still need to be held a lot (hubby carried her all around a carboot yesterday because she didn't like being in the forward facing pushchair) but she's happy to sit in her swing for 10mins now too...
Ooh, and how are you at feeding lying down? Because the thing that works the best for us when we're at home is lying on the bed feeding and once she's asleep I can scoot backwards off the bed and leave her to sleep while I get other things done...
Hmm, maybe there is something with the name. My Caitlin just seems to feed and cry with the occasional sleep! Hopefully she'll improve over the next few weeks. God, I sound awful saying that. I love her to bits but I worry she's unhappy as she just seems to cry.
She's just had a feed (only 15mins tho) before falling asleep in my arms. Gonna leave her 15mins then try and feed her again before going to Drs. She loves snacking and I'm sure that's part of the problem - she's not getting enough to sustain her for very long so doesn't fall asleep very easily.
I don't mind holding her (although it would be nice to get a few jobs done occasionally) but I worry she'll be clingy as she gets older. Did you need to hold Aimee lots too? From what you say about her, she sounds full of confidence and is happy to be left with other people.
I haven't tried feeding laying down, but I did read some of the posts the other day which were giving Skinty some hints and tips, so I'll go back and refresh my memory and give that a go too.
Thank you for all your help0 -
Does anyone know if gift cards/vouchers run out? These will be 6 months old now.
Just reminded myself - who was after a bouncer/swing on a frame rather than on a door way?

Is that any use?My_Fathers_Daughter wrote: »That bouncer is without the frame. It is the frame from the amby hammock

I've just requested you and Sami as friends if you're wondering who the random request is from0 -
Choppy - when she starts to fall asleep do you try to rouse her?
When Ed is nodding off I rub(thats rub not stroke) his cheek in a circular motion and it wakes him enough to remember he's feeding for a bit longer

I do but it doesn't always work. Might be because I'm stroking her cheek instead of rubbing it. Maybe a bit more brute force is needed
The longest she's ever fed off me is about 30mins, which I don't think is very long really, and that's only happened a handful of times.0 -

Yeah I had to hold Aimee all the time lol... She very rarely cried but I think it was because I was always holding her... I bought a baby carrier just so I could use two hands to pee... But it was just me and her so it was never really a problem to me, I didn't have anyone else to worry about... She is super confident... The play thing I took her to on Friday was in a place we've never been with people she's never met before... She went in with no problem and the leaders were coming up to me afterwards telling me she'd been brilliant... Aimee also never slept which is why I think I was always holding her (memory is hazy there)... Its one of those situations where you feel like you're never going to get through it... But you do!
Didn't mean to post that photo and run but Madame woke up... She has a terribly sticky eye at the minute... Its always been a little gunky but the past couple of days it's been proper snotty... I've been expressing milk onto cotton wool and wiping it and it seems to be getting better... I want it to clear up quickly because I'm sick of hubby telling me to take her to the Dr and get some drops!A very proud Mummy to 3 beautiful girls... I do pity my husband though, he's the one to suffer the hormones...My Fathers Daughter wrote: »Krystal is so smart and funny and wonderful I am struck dumb in awe in her presence.

Krytsal, have you tried rubbing down the side of her nose? Toby had a permenant gunky eye, wiping it and BM didn't work. At his 6 week check Doctor told me it was a blocked tear duct, and to keep wiping, but also gently sweep my finger down his nose, by the eye. Within a week it was cleared up!
Nice picture here:

Hi all, am back from our weeks holiday in North Wales and it was fab, we are already thinking of booking next year already with my sister. Have spent the day doing about 7 loads of washing though so only just catching up with the thread. I have noticed that since I went on holiday there have been about 100 pages typed so might have to give reading them all a miss I think.... any chance of a summary so I can catch up.... have noticed a few newbies so hello to you.
oh yes meant to ask, when anyone was expecting their 2nd child, did you find out the sex at your scan or not.... still deciding.....Mum to 2 lovely boys who keep me busy.0
