How can they tell if you have a child if you take the baby seat with you?

good point  I have a feeling the signs were more for effect than anything  My gripe is that people use them to be close to the store, which is helpful woith toddlers etc. I need to use them to be able to open the car door enough to take the baby seat in and out. When I can't get a space I go park as far away as possible and that way I can usually get two or three spaces together - only to normally come back and find someone has parked bedside me and my problem returns! One day I actually had to ask a stranger to hold the car seat with baby in it while I reversed out of the tightest space ever (people had parked on both sides of me) before I could open the door enough. Thankfully she was a lovely lady who understood and was old enough for me to know she wasn't going to be able to run off with such a heavy load;)

today we are catching up with a mummy friend - we are having a trip to costco and then going to sample the free ikea family card coffee and if we are peckish grab our free baby food jar if we eat there :p Get me being all mse :money:It's not like this thread to be on topic:p

PMSL - DH is trying NOW to get me to think of what I want for my 30th in November... I'm crap at thinking of things and apparently he can't make me 5 years younger... *sigh*
That's impressively organised. My OH usually starts thinking about it the day before unless I give him clear hints in advance.
Went to the dentist for another check up recently with DS. I showed him this cartoon before we went, and he sat really well (on my stomach!) whilst the dentist managed to look in his mouth with a light and mirror.

I think I've posted it on MSE before, but always worth mentioning again.
We took Alice to the dentist a few weeks ago and talked about it loads beforehand so she knew what would happen but then she was shy so didn't want to open her mouth.

Raven's were used to help find land - I learnt that from QI the other day ;)
Ah that explains why Noah sent a raven out first.

I noticed signs like this are now up in our nearest sainsbury's. However - I stayed in the car with LO as she was asleep and watched a Middle aged man pull up and park in a parent and child space when he had no child with him - i'm surprised my fierce look didn't shatter the car window - but it made no difference:mad:
I noticed our Sainsbury's has signs saying they are for people with children under 12. Why would you need a parent and child space for an 11 year old?

Actually I wish they didn't put the spaces so close to the store because if they were further away people would be less likely to nick them. I like them for the door opening space and I also like ones where you don't have to be crossing the aisles to get to the store. This is where Tesco is quite good as it has loads which are really far from the entrance but you don't have to cross the aisles.

I had that happen yesterday - the person was so close on the drivers side that even I by myself couldn't get in but fortunately there was enough space on the other side so I could get in and climb across. It was fortunate I had a courtesy car though (ours was being serviced) as otherwise I would have also had to climb through to the back between the middle of the seats to put Alice in as ours is a 3 door. What made it even more annoying was thatthe person who did it had two carseats in the back so should have known better.

Susan - ours is a sporty three door number as well :rotfl: It's really easy with an isofix base + car seat, but you do have to open the door more than if you have a five door car. I know what you mean about not having to walk across the aisles - and I think that's a great idea.
