Okay, I took this..
..as applying to me as I am the only one who is "only expressing". I'm sorry if that's not what you meant, but that's how I took it, and I didn't take kindly (as you can probably tell) to your suggestions for increasing my supply when I hadn't asked for help and, having spent eight weeks on a neonatal unit having "you must express for the health of your baby - all formula is like poison to him" drummed into me, I had unsurprisingly tried expressing every few hours.
I've mentioned it before, as have a lot of others here, we all have feelings of being a "bad mum".. totally unfounded and probably irrational every time, myself included (whatever has happened, there's nothing we can do about it now, we just have to move on and carry on.. as I have to keep telling myself!).
Like rmac (and MFD) suggests, group hug and virtual biscuits all round?
:kisses3:
I think you are wonderful and so does my husband

Sorry SM but this is simply not true.
Everybody has a legal right to request part time or flexible hours and an emplyer has to give it due consideration.

Good stuff
Glad it's going so well.
Has anyone used the pampers simply dry? I'm not sure if I should get them  maybe I could get some and then swap them, Chris's in size 5's so it's feesable that OH 'got the wrong ones'
I missed the bargain - never mind. Am I the only one not totally confused by all the different ranges of nappies within the one brandI can't possibly try all of them and as baby grows she changes and so ones that did fit no don't IYKWIM  I decided I liked huggies best, but then LO was inbetween their sizes and pampers fitted better, but I bought a different fit one day and they leaked and were the wrong shape and so now back to huggies but it's all so complicated. What was wrong with Terry's towelling nappies:o:confused::p:p;)

AFAIK - a company only has to properly consider your request to go part-time. They don't actually have to agree to it. If you were going to argue the point they would have to show you evidence of that consideration process.r.mac, you are so wise and wonderful, that post was lovely and so insightful!0 -

Can I just chip in and say it's actually anyone with children under 16, or disabled children under 18, now
They changed it recently.. April, maybe.

HA! HV just been and weighed Caitlyn - she's 8lb 4.5oz so has put on 6.5 oz in a week hurray! DH can go and tell his mother THAT! When we were there at h
the weekend and Caitlyn was fussing alll the time she said 'Oh get her on the bottle' and 'all mine were bottle fed'. Even last night DH said he doesn't think she's getting enough. I told HV what they'd said so she made a point of writing in the red book that she's got a healthy weight gain and that she is breastfeeding well and said 'you can show them that!' Sorry if I sound awful but they seem to think they all know what's best for my baby. DH's mum also told him I should put her in the cot. His dad asked me if I nursed her (he means hold and rock) so I said yes. 'Ah, you should put her down'. !!!!!!??!! She's 3 weeks old!
On a good note - my childminder rang earlier and said she'll be able to fill my place from around October to January which means I won't have to pay her for that timeMore in my pocket for clothes and toys lol!
Off to catch up now!
YAY Caitlyn!!
I got some of this from hubbys family too...along with 'that's why he is clingy' (he is 3/4/5 weeks old !!!!!!!!) and he will settle better if you bottle feed him
I also used to get 'how long are you going to do THAT for?'
I just used to say 'oh right' and 'for as long as I can be ar5ed' and they gave up saying anything after a while
Good news on the Childminder - how does that affect your £21 a week?please listen to MFD - she is a wise womanProud Mummy to the gorgeous Benjamin John born 14 March 2009, 8lbs 14ozA new little seedling on the way, due 30 September 20120 -

Thanks for all the well wishes:)...I waited till dh had put his work away then we had a lovely chat. He is adamant that I am not to feel guilty and I am to go straight to the docs if I get even a hint of those feelings again. He did try to encourage me to go anyway, but I am stubborn and am sure I feel fine currently.
