That's terrible Buttons....on he rare occasion dh's mum has babysat ours we have always paid her taxi for her. After all if she wasn't doing us the favour she wouldn't be paying any taxi! Although she usually expects dinner to be made for her, as well as nothing to be left for her to sort out kiddie-wise...so all she has to do is sit on her bum...but that's a whole other story;)
I don't get to see this friend too often, since we got rid of our car, as she doesn't visit much. When she is going to come it is like a military operation...she books the visit about 1-2wks in advance then txts a few days before to let me know what time she will be coming, she stays for a relatively short time and always has a reason that she HAS to leave.....Hmmmm maybe she just isn't that good a friend after all:(Unless someone like you cares a whole awful lot,

Hi all,
We're back from workEveryone thinks Rhys is gorgeous and the big boss (the one who came to see us in hospital) thinks he's awesome and said I could leave Rhys with him anytime
I suppose it did help that he was asleep when we got there, woke up, had a look around, smiled at everyone with big wide eyes, had his bottle with no fuss and went back to sleep on my knee!
He's now just had another one and is yet again fast asleep on my knee
Only one person (a really good friend) asked me about his feeding - I was explaining about when we were able to take the tube out, and her first questions was "Are you expressing?" and I just said yes. So glad noone else really picked up on it as there were all the IT guys there at the time - half of them squirming at the sight of a little baby but still wanting to come have a neb!
Front of the house is still off - just needs a garage door and then we'd have a garage instead of a bedroom! Seems like the builders are in danger of actually putting in a full day's work as they're not happy with something so they're off to get and fit a bigger one.. no idea what, but I think it might be the thing that's holding the roof up!0 -
I have done nothing all day !!!
Am heading into town in about an hour after Dylan has his bottle - need to go to the post office;) - (elle ignore the MSE type wrapping !! it was all I could find)
and I need to call into the girls at work as they havent saw him yet. I needed to wait to a day when 1 of them wasnt there as she had a still norn at 24 weeks last year, and she cannot bear to be in the room with a baby especially a boy just yet, so I am avoiding her.
ETA - that sounded really bad, I texted her to see if she would be OK with me calling in one day to work and she asked if I would mind leaving it a day tll she wasnt there. The two best things I have done with my life

Hello! Ok, I took the advice from here and drove to a 'local' pram shop. Long drive in heavy rain with roads crammed with grockles, yeah!!! Now I'm more confused. I didn't like the Buzz, he offered me an iCandy Cherry for £230 but that's no good from birth. I liked the Maxi Cosi Mura but 17kg seems heavy and also the Britax Vigour but not sure about having inflatable wheels. The other one was the Loola but it was quite fussy to look at but the seat was nice. Anyone had any of these, please, as all I'm doing is going round in circles. XXXToo many children, too little time!!!0

Kai was grabbing hold of the spoon at lunch and guiding it to his mouth, now he has just been drinking water out of his sippy cup himself:)
The older two are playing PS3 'nicely' upstairs at the moment....not sure how long that will last:rolleyes:
he grabbed his spoon the other day and jabbed himself very hard in the mouth, poor love cried for ages! i think he learnt though, he hasnt tried to grab it since. TBH we have more of an issue with him trying to eat the bib and his hands when we're trying to feed him! i try and give him his breakfast when OH is still here cos then he holds his hands out the wayMy_Fathers_Daughter wrote: »Whilst we are all declaring our status (or is it statusses or even stati??)Mummy to

We use the "alternating spoon technique". I feed her with one spoon and she grabs it and finishes that spoonful by herself. Then I fill up the second spoon and give her that, and she lets go of the first spoon and grabs the second one. I retrieve the first spoon, and carry on. Sometimes it requires 3 spoons though, seeing as she has 2 hands
She also still tries to suck her feet if she can get at them. Normally there is the table in the way, but any time I feed her without the table we end up with sticky feet!
I think I am being productive for the rest of you today. I have finished painting the kitchen (except for a little bit above one of the cupboards that I can't reach, and behind the fridge, which will have to wait until reinforcements come and move it at the weekend). My mum will be back with Izzy soon, so I'm off to go fetch some boxes out of the garage while I've got my hands free. (For the purposes of packing away all the stuff from our living room cupboards, so we can get these cupboards down to the garage, and have room to put the new ones up at the weekend) I can fill them up while Izzy is here, but onlly if i have gone to get them!Isabella Molly born 14th January 2009
