oh Feelie - The first few months of Chris's life are a muddled up blurry mess in my mind!
Things are (currently) clearer for Ed but ask me again in a year and I'm sure I'll have no idea :rotfl: (I usually have a very good memory but being so tired and them doing so much since it's just too much for my brain to sort out)

Think I'll join in too if thats okay? :)

I'm 21 and have a 3year old DD called Keira. (bane of my life is her birthday cards spelled Kiera!)

DD has her 3year 4months jabs on the 11th of Aug, I'm fretting already. At least when they are a baby they don't know it's coming, and it's two needles, one in each arm I believe, pretty sure after they poke her the first time, I'll have to wrestle her to the floor and hold her down for the 2nd. Why don't they have 2 HV there, and poke poke at the same time. CRUELTY TO CHILDREN!

Still struggling to get her to eat a balanced meal(picky eater) won't give up her dummy (thankfully she is too embarrassed to use it in public) and she's been using the toilet to pee, since she was 2, but STILL won't poop in it. Bit worried about that as she starts nursery next month (I know I will cry and look a loon).

She agrees with me that "NAPPIES ARE FOR BABIES" "DUMMIES ARE FOR BABIES" "I'M A BIG GIRL MUMMY" That's great Keira, why don't you do it then? I've bribed her with Dora the explorer rollerskates, IF she poops in the toilet. We'll see how that goes....

I think DD was in our bedroom until she was about 8/9months? I really can't remember the exact age, but we had sex whilst she was sleeping, she seemed to be able to sense when you left the room and would wake......not like they know what your up to at that age anyways........Mummy's got a tickle toots, go back to sleep....good girl, hehe.
    ooh more newbies :j
You'll be glad to know my sort of neice (to complecated to type how she's actually related!) is called Keira so I know how to spell it ;) mind you I still get card's spelled wrong for DS1 - How can you not know how to spell Christopher:confused::mad:
Are you strong enough to make her go cold turkey with the dummies? I think I'm heading that way as I hate Chris still having his, I wanted to get rid of it at 1yr and he's now 2.5yrs and still got it:o

I saw a LO coming out of the doc's last week after having his jab, he was rubbing his arm but seamed ok, I heard his Mum telling him he was a brave boy - I nearly cried!!:o:p

Morning (I want a yawn smiley). Well done on a solid 7.5 hours! :)

Well done to the sleeping babies *said grudgingly* and huge empathy to Bruno and Mrs Bruno. Have you considered Elizabeth Pantley's stuff? There's no crying involved so Mrs Bruno might find it doesn't push her buttons as much (iyswim). It's not quick and it isn't for everyone but it might be worth considering.

fwiw if Celia wakes in the night I just bf her back to sleep (we wake a little to see if she'll go back herself or if she's just shouting etc in her sleep). I suspect I'll be doing so long past a year. As much as I'd really really like some sleep the ease of it appeals to me and since I know she'll grow out of it (eventually!) for the foreseeable future that's us!

sorry can't multi quote for some reason
How much of the first week do you guys remember? I know my Mum was here for four days, but I don't remember much else.

I don't really have much recollection of things till 6 weeks.

I remember a fair amount from the hospital but after that only very brief flashes until about six months.

She can go the whole day without it, but she wants it to sleep with, which I don't mind too much, it's the nagging throughout the day for it that gets on my nerves. Isn't it funny when they are little you can't wait for them to start talking, and when they do, you wish there was a mute button? Hah.

Not sure how someone couldn't spell your LO name right, that's an easy name, with no modern day squiffy spellings :p

The thing with Keira is, she will dive bomb off the sofa onto OH's beanbag chair, miss and clout her head (I swear she should of been born a boy) and laugh it off, but you so much as bump into her, or throw a wrapper at her (for a joke!) and she will act like you have seriously injured her and you get the wailing with no tears, and the lip wobbles, ahhhhhh. I know fine she is going to play up with the needle 100%, and her Dad is off work that week so is coming, and he will be putty in her hands, as usual.....I know fine what she is going to ask for too, THE ICE CREAM SHOP DADDY. Her fave place that!

Hi feelinggood, I've read your posts for a while (since I lurk) and I think you are amazing for persevering with the BF and everything else you have going on in your life.

I found it quite difficult when DD was born, I had bad PND, thankfully OH took the reins, I was in such a mess I didn't even think DD was mine, I remember saying once I wanted her to be adopted :o Bad times.
A lot of my issues stemmed from living at home, I won't go into it, but my family are a bunch of twits, and basically wanted me to stay in my "BOX" bedroom, the whole day near enough. Moaned when DD cried etc. Was there idea for me to stay there!

Once I got my own place the black cloud just lifted, and I feel so guilty that I missed a lot of DD's first few months. But they can't remember those things, just got to remember that. These things can't be helped though and I'm very grateful that OH was so supportive during those times.

    What a rambler I am.....

hmmm a mute button, now that would come in handy!! :p

talk of squiffy spelling has reminded me, I can't remember what site I saw it on but someone was asking opinions on names, they'd spelled out phonetically the unusual ones and in the list was "Siobhan (see-oh-ban)" :rotfl: imagine her surprise when one day someone pointed out her kid was actually called she-vaughn :rotfl:
I've also seen on tv a boy called Bjorn but they said it b-jorn !! they actually said the b - crazy American's for ya (Mrs Bruno excluded ;))

We also had a bit of a restless night because of Leila's snuffles. She slept from 11:30pm to 1:30am then slept on my chest until 2:00am ( just so I could make sure she could breathe okay!), then slept until 5:15am. We then snuggled on the sofa and both slept until 10:00am!!!! :o

She is now deciding whether she would like another nap and has her eyes half open incase I try to put her in her cot!

I am taking her to the GP this afternoon when I have my 6 week check.

Saw doctor yesterday evening and he basically told me I was too fat, to lose weight and do more exercise. (I mean no sh*t sherlock - I never realised I was overweight!) I know my pelvic floor muscles are knackered and asked for help and he just told me to carry on doing exercises, which I realise I need to do but what if I'm doing them wrong or some gizmo will help more. Just made me feel so de-flated and basically the GP wasn't interested until my bits are hanging out and I've prolapsed (which feels like it won't be too long at the moment!) Just wait until I really lose it want help with our sex life then I might as well become a nun!
That's horrible - it's really awful when GP's are insensitive/rude like that. I agree with the other posters that you should try to see a diferent doctor.

I have a brother called Keith and he used to have a different spelling on nearly every card. He even had a school teacher who kept spelling it incorrectly.

My friend's mum thought that (that her daughter wasn't really hers) too.

    Nice to meet you!

My name is Rebecca and nobody has ever been able to spell it. I always get asked how many b's and c's it has, and some people spell it the biblical way - Rebekah. I had one friend who couldn't say it at all so she called me Rubber-becca :rotfl:

Hello to scrummy mummy too :)
Here I go again on my own....
