    Thanks Feelie and Tine :)

Mmm.. routines - can't wait to start that one! I think we need to wait until we have our bedroom back so we can put him down for the night in there rather than being in the living room with us like he is now.

Can't get away from the letting him sleep on me, I'm afraid - I've been told I need to do it for the skin-to-skin contact :o

Just like before he was born, Rhys still has a wide awake period between about 8pm-midnight. He's fab at feeding then sleeping again straight away in the mornings and gradually stays awake longer before/after feeds through the day, leading to being wide awake all evening.

Once the bedroom's done, I'll be back here begging for routine tips to get him to sleep in the evenings! ;)

I've never been strict on routines, I let DS set the pace, Sleeps when he wants, where he wants. Eats when he wants. He is a super good baby but I know it isn't my doing. My Mum had a fabulous first baby and thought it was all because she was fab, but then she had me. Another reason I'm scared to have another.

Got letter from Mental Health team, have been discharged. Not suprised really, too worried about losing LO to be honest.
    Stay-at-home, attached Mummy to a 23lb 10oz, 11 month old baby boy.

    Small mercies! ;):)

Do babies sleep a lot a newborns, only waking for feeds, then gradually start waking more in the night as they get older, or if they wake only for feeds from the start does it usually stay that way?

I'm thinking because Rhys had such a slow but regimented start in the hospital and now only wakes every 3-4 hours through the night for feeds, will it stay this way or will he start waking up lots through the night as he gets stronger/needs less sleep? Does that make any sense... :o

A lot of babies do go through phases of restlessness....Even though Kai was a fantastic sleeper from wk 3 I knew at some point he would have his phase of waking constantly, both my others did the same. I think both did it around the 4-6mth mark too:) Although all babies are different and some may never do this where as others won't sleep a full night until they are a year old!!

*sigh* it's monday... it's booby cafe... and I can't be bothered to go :( I need to drag the munchkin to the vets later and I honestly can't be bothered to head out in this weather TWICE in one day! Sooo naughty of me :(

Why do you HAVE to go?

Is your booby cafe the same as baby clinic where you can get baby weighed and speak to HVs? I think ours are. It's on Thursday - I'm going to try to go this week. Will have Rhys weighed this afternoon anyway but just want to go for a neb at the centre really!

Thanks Sparkle - no it wouldn't be for us to make money (unless she becomes the next Jodie Kidd or Helena Christensen in which case I'll expect a very nice retirement home in my old age :rotfl:) more because I actually think it could be fun, she might get some great pictures (free :rotfl:) and it's MSE because what she "earns" we wouldn't have to pay later when she's uni age ;)

On that line... how much can an infant earn before Mr Brown wants a share of their earnings? If it's a couple of grand then we'd be ok - there is no chance she'd do that much (I'm hoping for 2 or 3 shoots maybe if we're lucky...)

And she IS gorgeous ;) but is she "what they're looking for" is the big question? :) My stepsister is a model - used to do united colours of benneton and other big names so I know a fair bit about the model world and especially it's pitfalls... :(

£5000 a year Mrs T,then they pay tax the same as us :)

Who have you registered with Tine?

Ladies with lists... What will I probably need for 2 nights / 3 days away?
A very proud Mummy to 3 beautiful girls... I do pity my husband though, he's the one to suffer the hormones...
Krystal is so smart and funny and wonderful I am struck dumb in awe in her presence.

No booby cafe is different - I just feel bad for not going as I keep recommending it to other mums I bump into - daft I know.
Booby cafe is actually like a franchise (but non-profit) and although often run by a HV it's not actually part of the service the HVs are supposed to provide so here they ae very definitely different. Booby cafe on a monday, the drop in sessions where you can weigh the babies etc with the HVs and midwives are tuesday and wednesday (two different centres) and neither is at the same location as the booby cafe.

Hugs Caz - so glad you're getting help, and gladder OH is helping you to get help!

I was just thinking like a dummy fairy they get given away so other babies can have them!!!! Ok I must have a strange mind!! Actually I know I do! But honest I'm not a weirdo..........;):D

Not a weirdo at all! The tooth fairy takes the teeth so that the new babies can grow some, the dummy fairy takes dummies for the new babies, bottle fairy takes bottles for the new babies - and so on!!

Am I a bad mother??? I have just registered Alexandra to be a baby model  don't know if we'll be exccepted ofcourse but i thought it might be quite fun and something to put in a savings account for her :) (not her trust fundy thingy started with the £250 the government sent... I don't like the idea of letting an 18 year old suddenly have control of a rather substancial amount of money - what if she's turned into a spendaholic!!! I'd rather it was in an account we control and if she's going to uni then it could help pay her fees etc :)

Not a bad mother at all! So long as you don't turn into one of the mothers off the BBC3 programme last night. Did anyone see it?:eek:http://www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/episode/b00lvf60/Baby_Beauty_Queens/
I haven't watched it all yet - Top Gear was on at the same time - but Mum kept texting me telling me how 'wrong' it all was.
Maybe we should set up a MSE Parents Club Modelling Agency - as we already know we have the most beautiful babies!

Sorry if i've missed anything important - I've hardly been on over the weekend - DD had her dancing show Friday and Saturday night - so we had to sit through 4 hours of performing children - twice! And OH and I have been trying to make an effort!

And finally - my beautiful darling daughter who sleeps at night for 12 hours - decided that 3am was a good time to wake up for a play and giggle for an hour.

I was a naughty mummy last night - LO wouldn't settle properly and kept crying in her sleep. DH was starting to stress so at 3am LO and I went to the spare room and cuddled up together - she was asleep almost instantly and slept through to 8am - little tyke! I hope that I ahven't made a rod for my own back though.....Her teething pain is huge this week though and I feel so sorry for her. Calpol and teething gel doesn't seem to be helping that much. Is this normal and should I carry on as we are or should I seek extra medical advice because it's not normal?

Get ye to the chemist and buy Anbesol ;)

    You won't regret it :D
