Hmm hmm, another troublesome sleep night as his first birthday approaches... after various night-time disturbances kindly OH got out of bed at 6ish with him to let me sleep in, but abused body-clock wouldn't let me go past 8.30 anyway. Then at 10.30 OH went for a lie-down, and refused to get up at 11.45 when it was time for his lunchtime BF and then nap!

This turned out quite well, cuz I located old bottle not used in 6 months, put some watered down juice in it and let him have a bit of a chew (note, not a suck, he didn't seem keen on sucking) then managed to soothe him to sleep with no boobies involved at all! Which is virtually a first, ever for deliberate attempts, so feels like good progress :)

Those of you who've BFed and then weaned the baby off, did you go to bottles (of cow's milk or etc), or straight to cups? At what ages?

AM, no good advice on dummy but Elijah just stopped being interested in it except as a play-toy after a few months. I know not all children do that though, so I assume slowly easing it away from him will be the way?

Caz, let us know if you got some resolution, how horribly stressful :( good luck.

SM, I feel guilty moaning about sleep when people remind me what they're going through with their newborns and really little ones! It does get better mostly...! It's one of the memories that haunts me still every time I feel broody ;p we'll have another but we're still debating age gaps and I definitely fear the sleep issues.

Tired, she won't go down today, OH made a flask for the picnic yesterday and the coffee was really strong but I drank it anyway. Silly though as I think it's upset her tummy a bit!

What do you need it for specifically? I know O2 don't accept provisionals as ID for some silly reason, don't know if any other companies are the same...

:eek:My best mate has swine flu!!!
Thankfully we've both been so busy lately I've not seen her since Ed was born but she has 2 LO's
