Nice to see all the newcomers joining up just to worm their way out of a contract

    You should be delighted.

Isn't that the idea behind this board? (Get our revenge)

Thanks for this, I had not bothered to read the text that had been sent to me and have just managed to cancel my contract. I was initially told that they would not give me my PAC code as this was the property of orange, the advisor had to check that he was allowed to send it and has now agreed to do so. I wonder if this is a new policy?
  • just called orange.

guy cancelled my contract straight away. i then asked for my pac code and he said i couldnt have it as orange own it. I then said im legally intitled to it and wanted to speak to a manager. he came back and said i will send it to you its in the post, my contract will run tho until i give my pac code to another operator?

    Have I been fobbed off???

Not as long as the PAC arrives!
  • has anyone had any success canceling their contract with orange due to the change in prices if they havnt gone over their inclusive minutes my contact doesnt expire till march 2010 but want to go on PAYG and get out of this to save me some money each month as I dont really get the most out of my contract.

Is it true your not eligiable if you havnt gone over your minutes?

Just tried this and they wont allow me to cancel.
Didnt offer me anything at all either.

They are now stating that Oranges legal team has gone over this and have now decided that if the changes have not affected you for the past 3 months running then you cannot cancel.

I argued this stating that if I DO go over my minutes then I will be given extra charges which I did not agree to.

    No ball :(

I have called 084* recently and 087* this morning.

I was also advised to stop reading the silly website everyone keeps reffering to by the agent on the phone lol

I've got 6 months left to run on my Dolphin 35, to be honest, I'm happy with Orange but I wouldn't mind some money off to see out my contract.

Do you reckon that's still available? Everyone else seems to be cancelling straight away.

On the phone no still no joy.

Now stating that 4.3.1 removes my rights to cancel as it would not have had an overall 4% increase on my bill in the past 3 months.
Argued the fact thet they are removing my right to go over my minutes and be charged the value that I agreed to.

Agent then stated Even if I were to go over my bundled minutes this month before the changes kick I would still not be eligible to cancel because this has not been a 4% increase over the past 3 month and then this part that annoyed me, "text message only valid for 30 days" after this they will consider that as my acceptance of the new T+Cs. I asked if this is still the case even tho I have called advising that I do not accept them, agent said yes.

I stated that they have still changed my contract conditions and that is the issue, they keep reffering to 4.3.1

4.3 terminating your Contract because Orange has changed its terms
You may also terminate your Contract if we vary its terms, resulting in an excessive increase in the Charges or changes that alter your rights under this Contract to your detriment. In such cases you would need to give us at least 14 days written notice prior to your Billing Date (and within one month of us telling you about the changes). However this option does not apply if: 4.3.1 we have increased the Charges by an amount equal to or less than the percentage increase in the All Items Index of Retail Prices published by the Central Statistical Office in the Monthly Digest of Statistics in any 12 month period; or 4.3.2 the variations we have made have been imposed on us as a direct result of new legislation, statutory instrument, government regulation or licence; or 4.3.3 the variation relates solely to an Orange Additional Service, in which case you may cancel that Orange Additional Service in accordance with Condition 15.1.
According tot he link I was given on the phone
