Just popping in to let you know I have had the phone call and I didn't get the job as I was edged out by youth - today's interviewee got it...
ah well. They must have though he was good to wait a week to see him. Current boss thinks sel'n process has been unfair and has 'hinted' I should complain. I don't think I will. It won't make any difference.
Over the last week or so I have been gearing up for September and doing a 'if I still have my (current) job in September I will do ...'
    so not all bad.
and I shall be going off to Ikea to get some magazine racks I have decided I will need...
So I am not downhearted for that is not the Valli way (honest guv) clearly I am meant to suffer the slings and arrrows of outrageous fortune.
And I calculated what my salary would be if I were to do this full time (though I don't think I could TBH) and that cheered me up...
I have had a card from a boy in my class - he made it for me this morning and there's a little flap in it and when I lifted the flap he has sellotaped 5p to it.
    Bless
(Mind you on the hike I have been taking grass/wheat etc off him which he was finding and chewing and he has deliberately walked through every muddy puddle and area he could find. His mother is always immaculate! The mum who was with us pointed out to her that he had INSISTED on doing all this 'boy' stuff)
When we got back to school they all sat in stunned silence for at least 15 minutes - not a fidget, not a murmur!
oh - and I am sunburned and the plumber has been to look at the bathroom and tell me what can be done
Don't put it DOWN; put it AWAY

Sorry about the job Valli - hope you are really as positive as you said
Love the lad doing 'boy stuff' :rotfl:

Jinky - not being a nag but - those parcels - is it still a public holiday?

Jo - is there a union which covers your type of work? They might advise anyway. Or get over to one of the other boards and ask for advice. Yes, I know some of them are scary, but there are some helpful people.

Jo, huge hugs for you. ACAS may be your best bet for info re non payment of wages. Not something I know a huge amount about as my clients have all been solvent but let me know if you are struggling for info and I will see what I can find out.

valli - also hugs. Glad you are being so positive about it.

Not a huge amount done here other than the DW and bedding into WM but we did have a lovely day out and the boys are shattered which is a valid use of a day off.
