~~~~~~~~WAILS.........I MISS TOOTS!!!!!
Ahhh, the sweet sound of my DH arriving with a bottle of wine.
I found some really nice mugs reduced in the Matalan sale today, so I bought some for DD3's Teachers/TAs. I've filled them with some sweets and chocolates, and a note from DD3 saying thank you for being my teacher/ helping me etc. I'm so chuffed with how far she's come this year.
I think you should post a recipe of the week soappie! That sounds delicious! And as I've just picked another 7 courgettes this afternoon (21 in three days:eek:) then any recipe that includes them would be particularly appreciated.
Your veggies look fantastic. I really must try and sort out getting an allotment. I did send Toots a load of recipes etc. that you can do with a surplus of courgettes (she over ordered one week!) so if you want it, I can send it on to you via PM - let me know.
The lamb shank I'm doing today was an invention using what was around. Basically, brown a lamb shank in some olive oil. Remove it to somewhere safe. Fry a red onion gently with some garlic and black pepper. Skin and chop some fresh tomatoes and add to the onion etc. Throw in a good dollop of red wine. and some mixed 'erbs, add a bit of water. Go to the garden and snip some fresh rosemary. Wash and add to the frying pan.
Put the onion etc. at the bottom of a casserole dish. Plonk the lamb shank on top. Put the lid on. Despatch to the oven on about gas mark 4 (think that's 180degrees) and leave for a couple of hours. It's smelling delic...I am the leading lady in the movie of my life
soappie - yes please for courgette recipes. Lamb details copied and saved! Thank you.It is never too late to become what you were always intended to be0
serena - there's a whole thread on courgettes... it was on the first page earlier, so shouldn't be too far away. Or you could just send them over here
I have had ONE sugar snap pea (OK, I only have three plants, and only planted them less than a month ago) and I've got about 3 baby green tomatoes. No sign of any aubergines yet, but I have spotted some potential flowers.
OK. Shoes put away, stuff cleared from spare room bed and room tidied (ish) and rug back down.
Dinner almost ready
WM just finished
Not sure which of my many tasks to do later but I do want the kids to sort out the approx 50 golf clubs, at least 6 cricket bats and countless footballs which are in my garage.
I have been sidetracked by a freecycle score of a desk for my daughter's bedroom, so have spent the past few days tidying (feels more like mucking out) her room to put the desk in there. It looks lovely, and she spent the evening sitting at her desk drawing and writing.
So, I am confident I have done all the list for children's bedroom, but am behind on everything else......!
I am going to attack the living room tomorrow.Grocery Challenge (2 adults 2 kids)
