I have spent much of the day lost in MindJolt games :o I am sooo competitive :rolleyes:But did get my act together late afternoon and the dog and I went on a long walk around the neighbourhood. Bit in the park then tramping the streets. And, as I'm home alone this evening, I have a lamb shank in the oven in a rosemary, tomato, garlic and red onion sauce. It will be yum when it's finished.

    muhahah
well it's the last day for ME but the kids are still there lol but I am going in for end of term jollies...
I am feeling very pleased with myself - we had two chairs like this with foot rests but the click/clip things had snapped (and I never liked the foot rests anyway) so I have unscrewed and removed them, cut off the strap and now we have two regular chairs - MUCH BETTER and the unwanted bits are binned!

off to deal with the cat's mail now;):o

Thanks for the thoughts about ex-colleague folks :). DH and I both new him and it seems funny to think we will never see him around again (he did not live for from me).
Anyway, moving on to the better news.....................my clothes are packed, DS's clothes are packed, the toiletries are packed (except DH shaving stuff to be added on morning of departure), DS toys are packed, reusable bags are inside another reusable bag :D:D. Clothes are also laid out for travelling and the directions to caravan from mums (via Morrisons or Lidl) are safely stowed away with booking reference.
DH packing still to be done but he will do that himself. Also need to remember DVD-cam, charger and phone chargers.
Also need to go to bank day before and get some money (to get us started!).

Greenbee - the interview postponement must be really frustrating - the light bulb wondering where they are moment - did you find them?

I'm not too fussed about the interview TBH... I suspect that they won't be able to afford me for the job, but I want to put another candidate up for it if that is the case. If they CAN afford me, then I'll start thinking about it a bit more carefully.

I still haven't found the lightbulbs... I'll have to do some more searching, but I need to clear out the spare room as my parents are appearing sometime tomorrow (after paying a visit to HRH @ Highgrovel ) and I won't be here for much of the day (collecting my brother, dropping in at Bisley to see how the shooting is going and meeting a friend for coffee, 30 minute meeting, then a supplier is taking me out for lunch, a couple of 1-2-1s, and a colleague's leaving do... possibly followed by yoga)

I've been for another walk, so have a decent step count for a change, what with having been to the gym, walked to school, walked to the shop etc, but still feel lethargic and bloated. I clearly need to get myself back into a routine - which must include going to yoga and pilates as I haven't been regularly for ages.

Oh yes... and I have to make a Charlie & Lola birthday cake for a 2 year old for Saturday? Any ideas? I don't normally do characters... I thought I'd make a 9" chocolate & vanilla layer cake, cover it with white sugarpaste (or maybe pale pink?), then cut out sugar paste shapes and stick them on, layering them where different colours are needed.

I can see it taking ages, so hopefully my parents will behave on Friday!

I think you should post a recipe of the week soappie! That sounds delicious! And as I've just picked another 7 courgettes this afternoon (21 in three days:eek:) then any recipe that includes them would be particularly appreciated.

Happy holidays valli!! (I've been off since last Friday -* ducks quickly before incoming missile from AnW's mum :p*)

I've pm'd morgan to explain that she shouldn't think of tackling my decluttering guide if she's feeling anything less than brimful of energy and determination - and that goes for everyone else as well! It shouldn't be attempted by anyone with children under the age of 5 either. I think I'll go back and edit it to say that...I don't want anyone to feel they're failing because they are under the weather for any reason - heavens, it's been hard enough work for me to almost get my house back into shape, and it's not quite there yet!

pigpen - enjoy, have some fun, be cherished - you deserve it!

Hugs and get well soon wishes for all the poorly ones.

Okay, flying, I've spent 2 and a half hours on the allotment - hopefully DS1 can add a pic for me. I'm halfway through the hotspot in the kitchen, and have relocated all the rest of the family's belongings to their own rooms (and will probably have to declutter them from there on Friday...sigh).Salmon with lime, honey, ginger and chilli sauce with new potatoes, baby carrot thinnings and (of course) courgettes for dinner, collected DS2 from rugby, and delivered DD to BF. Lazy time now!
