I am NOT having fun with this cake. My artistic skills are not up to creating either pictures or models of Charlie & Lola to go on it... so any suggestions would be welcomed!

As I'm not really into children's TV I have no idea what accessories might be available (in Newbury, in the next hour or so!). I was wondering whether I could get away with putting coloured polka dots round the edges, writing Happy Birthday and the birthday girl's name on the top and finding a toy to bung on it (claiming that there was no room for anything else after I put the writing on!

    What do you reckon?

I'm currently claiming that I'm running late because my parents took so long to leave this morning :o

Greenbee is there a specialised cake shop in Newbury? It seems there are C&L rice paper decorations that might do the job ;) Might be worth a phone call to see if they stock them.

My ex has seen DD1 once a month for a couple of hours, since she was 3 months old...she knows intellectually what he is, but has no relationship. If financial/material gain is all the child can get from a parent who has planned to have them, then the child has an absolute right to take that, with no issue of conscience. Maybe XH wants to get money sorted out, pigpen?
exactly my point - they lose the nitty gritty - neither parent nor child will know each other - like and dislikes, shared experinces, all get lost!

Morning all! Have flown a bit around the kitchen so a star or 2 should be achieveable tomorrow.

I'm off here http://www.benjerry.co.uk/sundae/festivalinfo.php very soon so will think of you all whilst I'm scoffing vast amounts of free ice-cream ;):p:D It's looking good on the weather front too - fingers crossed it stays dry.

Have a good day all x
ewww yuk yuk yuk I don't like ice cream. DD ADORES it though. Under NO CIRCUMSTANCES are any flyladies to mention to my DD that such a thing as a free ice cream festival exists...;);)
