My boys went out to play this morning. They popped back briefly for a sandwhich at lunchtime, then appeared again at tea time. They're absolutely filthy and covered in cherry juice (loads of wild cherry trees in the woods). Good day all round :D
Here I go again on my own....

I wish I was ever likely to be in that situation - but it appears I'm probably infertile.

Local leisure centre here's got a tonne of courses and stuff on - including kayaks and things in the pool... quite how they're planning on reconcilling the family fun with floats and things along with the lunchtime worker swim they've got timetabled in the same pool at the same time should be amusing to see.
Oh I'm sorry dizziblonde. I thought you were answering from a parent POV. Apologies.

Spendless, do you know why Harry Potter is rated a 12A?? My 5yo wants to see it (and so do I!!) but I wondered if it wasn't suitable for him?

Toonie, I love the scrapbook idea, might have to do that too! London Zoo is fab, we went there at half term, food and drink very expensive so take your own!

Have you read the book? I'll try and be careful not to give too much away whilst answering your question. The 'inferi' coming out of the lake makes everyone jump. There are 1 or 2 'bloody' scenes (eg blood coming from wounds). There are also references to snogging and Harry being asked by Ron if 'him and Ginny have done it'. Ron's question is innocent but the audience got the double meaning. My 9yo didn't cos he asked why everyone laughed.:D Other than that I can't think of anything. There is a Harry potter thread running in the money saving arms where someone can perhaps think of someting I've missed (I did miss 5 mins or so taking my 6yo to the toilet.). It is a long film and boredom factor set in for my 6yo, luckily the film livens up towards the end.

Haven't been to see it yet - OH WON'T TAKE ME (he wants to go see silly Transformers)!!! It's quite a dark book, and it doesn't really have as much action in it as some of the others do since a lot of it is setting things up for the final bunch of action in the next one. From what I heard (brother went to see it on opening day - had to go at 10pm cos every other show was sold out), if you're going just for the zapping each other with wands or quidditch scenes the other books have you're going to be bored, but if you actually know the story and what's being built up to it's quite good. And yep... the spoiler is pretty well publicised if you've got an internet connection you'll have found it hard to avoid.

Thanks, I have read the book (a while ago though) which is why I want to see the film! I probably want to see it more than my son does but I have no one to go with!! Am single and none of my friends are interested in seeing it!

showcase cinemas have got free showings on wednesdays (10am) for kids - they have to write a book review - not brand new films - different one each week - will probably take the kids to that one week (likely a wet wednesday)

Library have craft sessions once a week - also free (first one tomorrow)

Today I printed loads of free colouring pages off the internet, and my 6yr and 4 yr old must have spent a solid 4hrs colouring, the Xbox was forgotten and there was peace in the house for once. I cannot believe how happy they were to just colour, we're making salt dough tomorrow, anything creative seems to keep them amused.
