Thank you Honeybear,
I've been lurking on this site for a very long time, like so many others have done. I regularly read lots of the money saving boards and have found the advice invaluable. I have spreadsheets and my money programme, I make shopping lists and menus and cashflows! All you wonderful people out there have helped me so much already but I just need to stop reaching for the wine when I get lonely or fed up.
I have so much good in my life, despite my horrendous debt which I know is my own fault, it was up around £80k (without the mortgage!) when I went on my DMP 3 years ago, so I am getting there, but I keep beating myself up knowing that I would be a lot nearer my goal if I wasn't spending up to £2k a year on alcohol! (I've used the demotivator tool too!), but I think I need to be a bit more interactive to get through this, and if I can help others whilst they help me, maybe I can feel a bit better about myself. I hope so.0 -
well you can stop beating yourself up about it now. That's the past, you know it's an issue & you're now facing up to it & dealing with it. That's as much as you can do right now & for all that's it's easy to say it is incredibly difficult to do as well know on here.
But do give yourself a pat on the back for coming on here & talking about it :T@ LBM = £15,872.65, now £10,819.82AF Jan = 7/? Feb = 5/14 Mar = 14/20 Apr = 6/14 May = 2/14 June 2/14 July 0/TF Aug 1/TFv Sept 6/TF Oct 4/7"NEVER DOUBT YOUR OWN QUALITY"0 -

Not that I'm in any position to comment as I've been on 2/15 since almost the beginning of the month@ LBM = £15,872.65, now £10,819.82AF Jan = 7/? Feb = 5/14 Mar = 14/20 Apr = 6/14 May = 2/14 June 2/14 July 0/TF Aug 1/TFv Sept 6/TF Oct 4/7"NEVER DOUBT YOUR OWN QUALITY"0 -
What's gone is gone. You can't change it. Look forward
How are you, anyway?
lol!
And I'm ok, just lacking in energy or motivation to do anything! But, even saying that, I've done lots of washing & tidied my flat a bit so i'm not a totally lazy bear

HB & RA, sorry I logged out and didn't realise you both wanted to come for tea! There was tons left too! Come tonight instead, it's roast pork (gonna roast for 6 hours on low) with all the trimmings, HM yorkies and loads of apple sauce, might do a crumble for afties
GP, well done mate! That is a fantastic achievement, I bet when you first started posting on here a few months ago you would never have dreamed to have posted your 100 miles up so quickly :T I am very jealous of your achievement but it seems my backside has been superglued to the sofa

Good luck

Andy, sounds like you had a busy day yesterday  have a rest todayx
Lurks, nevermind, always today??
I think that's it and I've caught up with everyone, hello to everyone else
Bells seem to have crept back over the last couple of days, had nothing Mon - Thurs, then big time bells on Fri and low irritating ones yesterday. Talking to WBF yesterday about the worzel gummage head, it happened to me last night. I sat there trying to justify going down the shop and buying beer even though I needed nothing else and decided that I'd just have some that night but would be continuing my AF journey the following day. Just the one night of drinking, that's all, just to stop the thoughts for one night, that's all . I nearly believed it, it's like the devil and the angel, the devil has gagged poor old angel and bunged her in a cupboard (no comments please) and so I can't hear her screaming at me, the only voice is the devil's one, he's got his estate agent voice on (sorry budgie), making you think you need it when you don't! How do I stop my brain from trying to trick me?
Woke up quite refreshed for the first time, like ever... slept solidly from 10.30pm till 8.30am which was great, had the obligatory vivid scary dream though. The dream was a recurrent one, I'm staying in a hotel, a place with loads of identical corridors and doors and keep losing my way to my room. The lift always has something dodgy about it, either the door doesn't shut properly or it jolts and jumps all the way to the next floor or it travels in a diagonal direction. Last night's dream had me bypassing the lift cos I didn't enjoy the first trip in it so took the stairs, got lost then on one of the staircases was a push bike that I had to clamber over with my luggage. There has to be a message in there somewhere? I'm lost, can't find my way but trying to, the journey is rocky and there are lots of obstacles.....sound familar
Gotta run, best do some housework

Building myself for a busy one, I think..... got a big food shop to do _pale_, then Sunday dinner (think its roast Pork today), and finish off digging my veggie beds... no manly activities here :rotfl:
got to drop my car off later for MOT and scary service  all this expense and I'm probably out of a job at the end of the month.......Neigh, neigh, and thrice neigh
