  • I managed 100 miles today, all over the peaks. 8 Hours, 9 minutes.

My legs, bum, tender bits, hands, lungs, fingers, shoulders and spine feel like they belong to someone else. I think it's my body's way of saying "if you could actually feel how much it hurt, you'd pass out"

Am going to drag myself into the shower now. Well, try to anyway.

    :)

Don`t overdo it GP....100 miles:eek::eek::eek:...I was out in the Peak District today....LOL did`nt see a madman on a bike though!!:D:D...however saw plenty of walkers with inappropriate footwear ...I mean flip flops on rocky terrain:eek::eek:...some people just don`t think !!

Thankyou to everyone ...had a brill birthday...& just had a lovely meal out with family. Plus another AF day for me :j:j:j...drank lime soda & ice ...perfect drink with thai food:D:D

  • Evening all

Not AF tonight. OH worked his socks off painting kitchen. Then we had trip to Dunelm to buy a big canvas picture and a couple of pieces of "wall art". Kitchen looks great so we cooked sausages, mash, cabbage and gravy to celebrate! Also opened a cheapo bottle. Not going too mad though!

Have asked Dad over tomorrow to help with new light fitting (OH not good with electrics!) so all we have to do is get a new blind and we are sorted!

Feeling quite mellow. Apologies for my teary posts last night. My Dad is SO important to me (I'm a Daddy's girl) so the thought of anything bad happening to him hits me very badly. He's staying positive (ie ignoring the possibility and carrying on as normal!!). No-ones told my nan (his Mum)...she's in denial that she has a son thats nearly 60 let alone anything else!!!!:rotfl::rotfl:

Just want to say thanks for you all being so supportive...

    Miss P

Feeling absolutly cream crackered tonight. Went to bed at 07:30 this morning and had a call of nature 10 ish. Phone went to say Valerie ( my Volvo ) was fixed and ready for collection. As OH was at a boot fair I had to walk to the garage - 40 mins- and have not been able to get back to sleep since  Looking on the bright side only 8 hrs to go until bedtime

Hope everyone is doing OK and enjoying the weekend. I finish Monday morning so its nice to have the week off when everything is a lot quieter so dont get held up in shops with queues etc.

From a personnal viewpoint I have only had the 1 Magners in 25 days now and TBH not missing it at all. Thought I would be climbing the walls by now . No bells, nothing  Seem to have lots more spare cash ATM which is always a bonus when Valerie has just cost me £170

Long night ahead for me and may all your dreams be whatever you want them to be

Dont worry about the " teary post" Miss P. That is what we are here for " Support " It is a place that I can be honest with you all at times when I would be in denial even with myself and I feel priveliged to count you all as my buddies although only tinternet ones :T

Must start grafting now so will speak to you all later

    Sweet dreams

  • Bad move. With GC, RA and Bis's words quite clear in my head I poured myself a whisky and coke late last night. Way past the bell ringing stage, should have just gone to bed.

    No justifying it. Self sabotage.

New week, sun shining, get head together.

Am feeling all Grouchy McGrouchy this morning, for some reason

Also a bit worried about Angie's comments regarding the inappropriate footwear in the Peak District as I know some people who've gone up there this weekend - surely my friends wouldn't be that stupid...would they?

  • Do you kind people mind if I join you. I have tried so many times not to bury my head in a bottle of wine but I never get past the 3 month mark and I have come to realise I just cannot do it on my own.

My debts are massive (over 50k) and much of this has come about from booking holidays online when I've been drinking and using my credit card to buy things I knew I couldn't afford. Anyway, the cards are gone, I am now on a DMP and I have most things in my life under control except the wine, which still seems to have a hold over me. I am down to my last few pounds which have to last me until next Friday but I still had a bottle of wine last night that I knew would leave me short and now I am feeling upset with myself because I will have to borrow money from my little girl's pocket money to get through the week.

Sorry if I sound miserable, I know the purpose of this thread is to keep everyone's spirits up (corny pun, but it made me smile), but I know that I could really use some support right now.

    Thanks for listening.
  • Hi mumofseven :hello:

This is definitely the place to be for a bit of support re.the demon alcohol so welcome aboard :)

Congratulations on getting rid of the cards & getting a DMP in place, sounds like you're already heading in the right direction :)

Have you looked at the Old Style boards for inspiration, as there's lots of stuff on there that can help make a few pounds last a long time :)

  • Morning Peeps

Haven't read back yet - may take some time :D

Am on the naughty step this morning, as I had 5 cans yesterday and started at 1.00pm, though have to say had a nice a chilled day, but still got lots done..... cleaned all the windows inside and out, the guttering, and swept the chimney, then rustled up some wood, mended the woodburner and just had to light it to check everything was hunky dory ;):rotfl:Lovely warm house last night :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

11 units to add to my total YM please - get ready to use 'The Persuader' on monday night

Have 3 cans left for today, which I'm happy with for a weekend day.

Off to B&Q as soon as they open to get a new saw blade for the saw bench, then as long as it doesn't rain its a day of sawing wood for the fire. :money::money::money:

We had the chap round from WarmFront on Thursday.. They are going to put in radiators and a LPG combi boiler for us for free :money:Doubt whether it will get used much though as our wood burner is 24Kw and heats the water too. It seemed a shame to turn it down though as the grant was available. I could always connect it in to the woodburner too I guess. The surveyor bloke says it was possible, but they couldn't do it under the scheme and would have to be done after the installation as a separate job.

Hope everyone is Ok .... off now for several minutes reading back :D
