  • Evening everybody

6 AFD's for me, please YM - I understand it will probably be added tomorrow.

Started new job today, but not sure about it at all. And DD2 still poorly - Mr PIR was actually very helpful and able to look after her today because he was working from home, and will be tomorrow too. I don't like leaving her even though she is 15.

    Night night xx

    :hello:

winebox, I so understand how you feel about overlooking people on the thread. It's never intentional, just a bit like being at a party or in a group conversation some are speaking some are listening at any one time. I think this thread is amazing the way it swings from jokes to poems to nits and recipes and all the while supports everyone.:A

When I get back from holiday I plan to take up my 'urban walking' again. That's 30mins a day of nosing in people's gardens and at their choice of curtains etc. All this talk of coast-to-coast is

Budgie, well done on going to the gym, with that sort of positiveness I'm sure you'll get your sparkle back soon and we're all determined to help you!!!!:T

Like so many others I found your 'Are you happy?' post very thought provoking and have been mulling it over ever since. Briefly I am very happy wth my lot. I have a lovely OH, nice home, no money problems etc etc OH was made redundant a few years ago but he coped extremely well with it. Fortunately money wasn't an issue but he threw himself into all sorts of activity which helped him win through.

This begs the question 'why the drink problem?' In my case I think it was a very stressful job which made me use booze as a way of relaxing. I gave up that job a while ago but the 'wine every night' habit stuck because I enjoyed it. This thread has helped me put it back in its place as something to be enjoyed at weekends and other social occasions. Only problem is that without the job I have far more time free for social occasions :rotfl:

I don't think anyone is happy all of the time. I know I' m worrier and I worry about my DDs. They are both grown up and compared with some they are a dream but I hate it if they are unhappy in any way. I'm sure you know what I mean Budgie, it's like your DS has done brilliantly but now you worry that he's leading too extravagant a lifestyle  I suppose that just comes with being 'maman'.

Well done everyone who had an AF Monday. I'm hoping to come in on an AF Tuesday, my last before setting off to Provence.

Have no idea why but mild headache and grouchiness hit me last night. No bells but was not a happy bunny.

3rd AF free day in a row, 4/30 overall. OH wobbled while in the supermarket and wanted beer but I stood firm. Then he wobbled again as we walked past the offie on the way home but I managed not to give in.

His reasoning was that he won't drink the next two nights because of work the next day so this was his last chance. :D I said well if you don't drink tonight then by friday you will have gone 6 days, which will have given your body a well-earned break. "But I'm bored, I could spend the evening like an intoxicated mystic, communing with my muses"

Bless him and his muses. I reminded him that the muses would still be there on friday night and if the worst thing about not drinking tonight is that he would be a bit bored then that's not too bad. And that if he doesn't get his drinking under control his life could very soon be no fun at all.

    Killjoy ain't I? :D

    Morning all

I keep forgetting the multi-quote function, maybe I won't be late for work today now!!
Started new job today, but not sure about it at all.

Good luck with the new job hunny, as sparkly budgie says, do give it a little while, a week at least. People have to get used to you as well as you getting used to them and that's when things settle down. I hope you enjoy today a little more and hope DD feels better too. So glad you've got Mr PIR there for you for the first couple of days of a new job :) xx

Sparkly Budge, that is more of the budgie we want to hear :T spend more time on yourself and making yourself feel happy :)

Maman, this is quite bizarre as I text practically the same thing to Fay about 3 hours before you post it  I have decided like yourself, to get myself a new hobby, a little like your walking but shan't do that as peering into peoples windows in London is not a good thing  I really, really, really, want to try wall climbing, but the nearest one is miles away and it costs a fortune (comparable to my budget :o).

Right thought I wouldn't be late, but I am

YM, 7 for me please matey, a whole week, wow. Slept like a log last night, had a really bad vivid dream as usual and for some reason didn't have much in the way of bells last night, but sure big ben will be back later  refuse to become complacent.

Hi to each and every one of you, hope you all have a lovely day.

    Must dash!!

    xx

  • MORNING ALL major wobble lastt night at 6-10 (shops close at ten) - dstracted self by mowing lots of lawns, chopping logs and listeening to Marian Keynes audio book (The charming man wasn't very charming was he?) I didn't really like the the portrayal of the alcoholic woman - I thought it was a bit extreme (don't kill me just my opinion) - but then again maybe it reminded me a bit too much of my dad? (apart from the woman bit) Managed to get through the dark bit by annoying chums by text (thanks Jo and Miss P).

OH applying for new posts as he may be getting made redundant and I think its got me a bit rattled - hes not looking for work up here - Jo's right I need a new hobby - will start teaching a night class soon (Gardening) but I need to get my bum back to bodybalance

Jo the climbing thing sounds ace, can you justifiy it if your not buying beer? Or is there a council run one thats not so expensive? There's one here around the corner - both our high shcools have climbing walls and but its a bit of hike for you.
Total debt 26/4/18 <£1925 we were getting there.
Total debt as of 28/4/19 £7867.38:eek:
    minus 112.06 = £7755.32:money:
    :money:Sleeves up folks.:money:
