  • What a weekend! Drank Friday, Saturday & Sunday, fell out with 4 very good friends (Totally my fault) and also started a fight with another friend resulting in me having to be thrown out of the house and the door locked. What an idiot, i can't believe how badly i've let myself down. I've apologised to everyone and all except one of them have said don't worry about it 'It was the drink'. Things will never be how they were before though, i said / did some really bad things. I also feel like i've let you guys down given my opening few posts stated i would never drink again. I have to stop this time, i'm slowly destroying everything i have. Feel absolutely gutted.

Sorry for bringing down the mood.

I can totally understand that association :rotfl:Or Adrian Edmundson maybe? Lurkio is David Tennant :lovethoug

Jo~thanks for thinking of us. No word yet, but surely with all these postive thoughts flying our way, it should be good news. I hate waiting, but I think he was trying to hold back a little bit and not wanting to seem like a pain in the neck. Although I think he has every right to be flying off the handle with them

Draw a line through the weekend. Like golf ,where you can do nothing about the shot you have just played, concentrate on today. Dont beat yourself up about what has gone and concentrate on what can be ;)

Of all the movie stars/TV celebs and good looking fellas on the screen I remind 40SM of Harry Hill :eek:

OK Question - how many of us have NO alcohol in the house today?
In my fridge there is a bottle of Moet ! It's been chilling for nearly 12 years ! (Well different fridges and houses come to that - but you get my drift..) my dear late ever optimistic hubby put it in there for that 'special occasion' I shall one day honour his wishes. Also a quarter of a bottle of whisky left over from Chrimbo. And that is it.

We don't have any in the house. Need to go to Mr T's on the way home though to post an Ebay item. I suppose it depends how my day goes. My resolve doesn't feel very strong right now.

Just spoken with Mr FH and he's away to send Personnel an e-mail rather than picking up the phone again. I told him to give them an hour to respond. If nothing, then he should phone them. He seems to have given up hope which is a bit irritating  I'm an optimist though and never give up until it is 100% clear to me one way or the other.

    Hello!
Blimey a girl gos away for a couple of days and theres 20 pages to catch up on  Not read any yet but will try later!
Have been to stay with my sister in ciderland as they call it down there and OMG I thought I was a heavy/quick drinker....Ive come home feeling slightly better about my habits now......!
We went out for sunday lunch.....my BIL and his dad sunk 6 pints within about an hour and a half! I managed 2 wines as I generally dont drink in the day.....we then went to a bbq a little later on and everybody was just sinking drink like pop....I even felt a bit of a lightweight :D Cant really work out whats worse drinking copious amounts like that occasionally (well im only presuming they dont drink like that every day?)Or drinking a few glasses of wine most days?
I know my main problem is rarely giving it a break and giving my liver a few days off here and there....had a night off last night my first since last monday.Have also def cut down my consumption over the last week or two....:T Am starting to really think about wether I really want/need that second or third glass.
Have also started having what I think may be anxiety but perhaps need to go docs to get it checked out.Since I was ill a while back my stomach has been terrible and now am having chest pains kind of under my ribs and a lot of burping /trips to loo etc.Was diagnosed with IBS a few years ago and also know this can be a sign of anxiety. My chest feels so tight all the time at the moment.....cant stand my docs though last time I went she just told me to give up drinking/smoking.....:D Pah....if only it was that simple.
Hope all are well on this lovely sunny/windy day
    Stroppy xx

Done a quick catch up as I'm up early - mad as a box of frogs you lot - is all I can say. Love the Scottish though as I used to live in Edinburgh a long time ago - took me three months before I understood anyone (me being a softy southerner an all).

Having said I wouldn't have wine last night, I did (:o). The tail end of a bottle shared between DH and me, just one glass but it's not the quantity is it? It's the fact that I had to have it, couldn't leave it in the bottle. This challenge is going to be harder than I had thought. Surely it cannot be that difficult to not have a a glass of wine in the evenings???

I'm also feeling a vaguely anxious feeling although I don't know why at all.
    Ah well, enjoy your day

Great post. This encapsulates so much of the issues around alcohol that we suffer from:-
Breaking promises to ourselves and others
    Unable to resist picking up
Feelings of a huge, insurmountable problem
    Confusion
    Anxiety

This was my alcoholism through and through.
