so still thinking about drink is not that strange after a long term of abstinance.

No Alcohol = muddled up head full of mince
Sorry YM -
Molly I was getting 'scared of alcohol' - should have listened to myself.
Maybe like the grasshopper man - (forget the movie but 'wipe on, wipe off')
I am a kinda a tap on/tap off kinda gal with alcohol. ALL and lots of it - or nothing - I can't cope with much inbetween.
I love the idea of 'just social drinking' it was my aim, but in my case it seems to lead to then 'in the house every night drinking'

I find sometimes I can just have one or two and say that;s it no more, but most of the time if I have one I want lots more, especially if in a social situation, stoopid innit.
Anyway, I had a lovely evening cooked something nice for myself and was AF so could I please ask Miss P to notch up 5 AF for me please.
I know I won't reach my target now as I am away the weekend and will probably have a drink on Friday and Saturday but I am still very, very happy about these days and the others that I do have planned AF. :T

Good morning
Feeling very bright and breezy today. My last working day of the week and lots of nice, relaxing things planned for the remainder of the week.
Another AF day yesterday, so I'm on a rollHad the most vivid dream last night. I think I'm already thinking about this family reunion thing that I have next weekend. I have family who live abroad and they are all coming over to join relatives here to celebrate my Gran's 90th birthday. It will be great, but can't imagine going to it without a bit of wine first
It's partly a confidence thing and partly because of one of my aunts who will be there. It's a long story, don't want to bore you allLets just say I have a strange relationship with her. She doesn't live in the UK so I don't see her often.
Well, I'm waffling, so best get some work done.......
Much love XNeed to start again0 -
PAH
Caz, jump back on the wagon tonight, read through your posts from the last 2 weeks and see how confident and happy you've been
BHB, what time's tea?
Morning everyone else  just caught up with about 5 pages since yesterday morning and forgotten what you've all said
Another new day to try and get through.....

Hello all,
Foot is still swollen (swollen ankles-both! tendon above toes & joint of little toe) so ordered a prescription from docs which other 1/2 will collect this pm. Having said that my foot now feels a bit better (only had my herbals as mentioned previously & some concentrated cherry juice) than this am...if it keeps improving by 2pm (when prescription is to be collected) will just stay on herbals...I don't like drugs (funnily enough alcohol is a STRONG drug but my/our brains don't see that...weird logic or what!) .
So 3rd AF free night last night....funnily enough the pain in my foot stopped any cravings !!!:rotfl:
Has anyone else had gout??? Very common for blokes who drink/or have drunk to excess for a number of years??
Cazza...don't beat yourself up! Just again use the experience to fortify your mental strength (ie if tempted again just remind yourself of how sh*t it feels the next day...!) & move on...you're doing great!0 -
Morning Jo
When you getting your appointment with your lady next?
Might help?
And can I come -- bit of a walk but sure I can tramp down.........:)
Keep chin up - join me in an AF tonight if you like?
PS Cazza - easy done - glad you have meetings to help. The positive thing is (there is one) that you are seeing what you 'use to do' and how you act 'differently' when on the old sauce.
My OH says I am completely different when drinking, sometimes funner (word? who cares!) but often a bit more pre-occupied (ie how much wine I can shove down my throat without him noticing).
When drinking I eat ridiculus amounts of midnight feasts as well and takeaways - treats whatever, any excuse.
Would also spend >£20 on treats at the supermarket of an evening or on the way home just to be able to put a bottle of wine in the trolley too - I can't shop at night time now.
Lol how sad do I sound - I need to police myself constantly at the mo
In short - don't beat yourself up!Total debt 26/4/18 <£1925 we were getting there.

Never had gout myself but I know someone who did and I gather it is not very pleasant. All the best.
Jo....What is all this talk of "another day to get through".It is another day to enjoy and be positive.
fay...No need to be sorry. I have been strutting around with my chest all " puffed" out today :rotfl:

Yes, I am definitely getting back on the waggon today.
I am going to an AA meeting tonight and I am going to find that will and resolve that I seem to have lost..........
Hugs,
Caz

That will and resolve is in there. You just need to uncover it. I have mine I dont know what is different but feeling quite positive and upbeat
