2 days AF since the funeral, not drinking today. Am obsessively cycling and munching Cheddars instead (not at same time mostly).

First of all, I LOVE marmite and I could just scoff some now on hot buttered toast. YUMMY YUM YUM.
Secondly, Graeme you are right about attending AA meetings and that they should be the most important thing.
It's no good having a clean house if I am too p*ssed to appreciate it!!
It IS the AA meetings which are helping me to stay AF, you are right. I couldn't stay AF for more than a couple of days before I started going to AA.
So I will go to the AA meeting tonight - I can always clean before and after it, if I have to.
Thanks Graeme, for putting things in perspective with your wise words, as always.
Hugs,
Caz

Hi All,
Just wanted to report in that I am now 2 AF DAYS
Slept like a log last night, much better than I have in a I really don't know how long. but this morning I have woken up feeling very down and very tearful also very angry with the world don't know what that is all about.
Ex came round last night (we are still good friends) to help with something, but as we seem to be talking more now and getting on better than when we were together I am actually not sure if this is doing me any goodseening so much of him, how do I go forward with my life if I do I ask myself?
Don't know, all I know is I am very pleased with myself for the 2 days as I would normally reach straight for the bottle and keep reaching, but I am determined this time, although i will take the advice I have seen on here and take it 1 day at a time.
well done to everybody and take care

Well done to everyone, It's great to log on hear and see everyone helping each other every day.
I've done 2 days now which to me is a huge achievement. OH has been very good and said he wont buy any for himself, all the time I'm trying to abstain. However, I'm already finding myself thinking well I'll do today, then thats 3 days and then it's the weekend and I can allow myself a bottle of wine. However, I'll get through today first because I have found the last couple days, just the achievement of going one night has made me say "well, I can do one more - that and the support on here".
Nessa I too feel a bit like you do this morning. I had my second restless alcohol free night last night, woke many times and saw the clock at least once an hour. In to work this morning and I ended up bursting into tears. Cant explain the reason, just feel very low, very tearful etc....I'm putting it down to tiredness due to the last two nights and just hope that it gets easier.
Caz - well done for making the decision and going to your AA meeting - clearly it helps you and you admit that so it would be a shame to let it go, especially with friends coming tomorrow. Might be the 'boost' you need to keep you on track.
Love to all..xx0 -

Graeme,
Cheers for the post....I'm quite lucky in that the nights are not completely 'sleepless'....( i read in my Paul Mckenna book that the body needs 2hours for it's essential 'maintenance' work) & by day 5/6 I'm usually absolutely ok!
I was drinking whilst stressed to 'block out' the extreme stress...it works for a few hours but as we all know the next day it's worse!
Graeme...yes I agree changing targets is not good (!)0 -
