You can do it, Gromit :) And the fact that you've got through without a drink will give you extra confidence with the interview tomorrow :)

Thanks honeybear................and silly as it may sound - as I watch each hour pass that I havent caved it, I feel quiet pleased with myself! I knows that sounds daft but it's been alcohol in the evening that I find myself looking forward to or thinking about by about lunch time!!!

got an interview for a job i really want tomorrow, so just keep telling myself that if I drink I will not be at my best tomorrow and will screw the interview!

    QUOTE]

Please please please don't pick up that first glass tonight. That's the sort of thing I'd usually do - sorry, used to do hopefully ;) - the more important the occasion the next day, the more I'd self-sabotage the night before for some unknown reason.

The night before interviews, weddings (not mine ) etc were always the times I'd do my worst.

If this is a job you're keen on, then give it your best shot - keep a clear head.

Wishing you all the very best tomorrow, knock 'em dead :j

me too :( But i'm telling myself that the benefits long-term far outweigh the gratification of a glass (bottle!) tonight...

    It's tough but it's worth it :)

You can gromit - hang in there

Wow - can't believe how fast this thread moves - you lot are all bubbly and chatty night (no-alcoholic bubbly that is)

Had a dead busy day - hubby cooked yummy tea and have had 2 pints of squash

Just thinking I might make myself a nice coffee - wow how things have changed!

Count me in for AF Tues - up to 9 days now. With a bit of determined effort i might make my 20 day target
Back to comping! July wins: Frylight August wins: Pixar DVD, Diesel Watch,£75 hamper brioche products September wins bath soak

Thanks to everyone who posts comps and help
  • On the subject of the chat about autumn/winter earlier today, I normally find those seasons quite depressing - in a low-level SAD way - and tend to drink more heavily.

But this year I'm thinking it might be ok - good excuse to go to bed earlier and read. If the evenings are shorter, then there's not so much 'wine time' to fill with something else.

Just a theory, remind me of my positivity in November when I'm climbing the walls!!

Wow, all those replies and messages of support already. Thanks so much. Like I said, I cant drink it if it's not in the house but the garage is only 2 mins away. I feel quiet desperate for a drink right now. Got to try find something to amuse myself. Being on here really does help.

GG - yes, I too seem to hit the bottle harder if there is something important he next day. The night before I went to hospital for back surgery, they told me 'Nil by mouth' after 10pm! I guzzled a bottle and a half before going to bed, because the thought of not having any the next day and the though of the operation. So stupid when you consider that I was then going under anesthetic the following morning!! Never even occured to me. Just wanted to get the hit before 10pm!!
