If my OH was away, I would go to Blockbusters and hire out a whole comedy series, like "Black Books" or "Spaced" for example, or a couple of films, buy myself loads of booze and snacky crisps and nuts etc. and and shut myself in the house, to have 4 - 6 hours of just me, booze and great telly.
It was always very enjoyable and if I am honest, reading your post about last night, I had a real pang about how I used to enjoy it
That is what I do.:D One of my friends said to me that if she sits in alone with a bottle of wine she starts crying at the end of the night. I actually really enjoy it. My DH works weird hours so I am on my own a lot but I like the peace and quiet.:p
There seems to be a lot of enthusiasm on here today. I'm not sure if I will be AF tonight so I will just say good luck to everyone!:AHOUSE MOVE FUND £16,000/ £19,000

Hi Everyone
I'll definitely be AF tonight. I think I'm just about back into my mindset of AF during the week, wine allowed on Saturdays only. It was the holiday which sent me off schedule. I'm going away for a few days to Paris next week, and can't imagine no wine when in France, but I've built that into my target.
Thank you to Tango Chick and all the best to you and your family.
This thread is fantastic for helping us all to change our ways. I'm so glad I came across it.
Have a good day everybody

Ha ha, I've just noticed that at the side of this thread there is a "Top Deal of the Week" where we can all get a "free vodka redbull" by printing the voucher!!!

Hi, hope everyone is having a good day so far!?
What are people's thoughts on alcohol free lager? I've tried Bitburger and Becks and find they taste ok. They seem to give me cravings for the alcohol version though! Anyone got any 'special' drinks they treat themselves to when they are struggling (Alcohol free of course!)?

I'm drinking lots of full fat cola at the moment!
But I also love elderflower cordial with sparkling water and blackcurrant squash is always a winner with me.
I'm going to try and avoid alcohol free lager/wine, as I, like you, would only crave the alcohol more I think.
Except for special occasions, when it might be easier to have my own AF sparkling wine to pretend I'm drinking real wine with everyone else - for an easy life, so I don't get 20 questions and peer pressure to "just have one". I'm thinking of Xmas when we have guests over, specifically, as I can't play the driving card.

MOB's - I am more of a pathetic obsessive gardener doing the job that I really love in flowers than a 'pro' - but if you ever need anything then happy to help - at the mo I am studying as well - so - I do proper 'jobs' to keep the extra pennies coming in and I start teaching nightclasses in October ....................OMG. _THey might find me out.
I don't mention gardening too much (HONEST) cos I have a tendancy to be a bit OTT about it all and folks noticably walk off shaking their heads at my utter enthusiastic nerdyness. Think Goodlife meets every gardening program rolled into one- tis the level of my obsession. The kids walk away shaking their heads on a daily basis.
Glad we have some AF'rs tongiht - its a bit like promising to take a pal to an exercise class - once you have promised - its difficult not to stick to it.
So I am still pretty resolute about tonight - I have been having MAJOR wobbles too Miss P (including putting back on almost ALL of the weight I lost when AF) and now am back to obsessing about the blinking stuff - pah.

Talking of gardening I came over all Titmarsh and repotted my Azelea (sp) in a bigger pot containing Ericaceous compost.

I know exactly what you mean about the 20 questions when mates see you aren't drinking alcohol. Just makes things even tougher doesn't it. Never been a cola fan to be honest, i struggle to sleep even without caffeine! At the moment my favourite alcohol free drink is chocolate browny flavour Frijj milkshakes! Taste awesome but i'm not convinced they'll do my waistline much goodAF since 06/02/20100 -
I'm joining in the AF night tonight, although it's a bit of a cop-out as I'm out dancing so makes it really easy. That being said, before this thread I used to get back after 10 pm and quickly make up for lost time!
Hot Ribena is my favourite AFtipple at the moment, makig it with boiling water means I can't just gulp it down. Although, over time I have noticed I'm not as obsessive about having a drink on the go from 6pm onwards.0 -
Personally I like dandelion and burdock. Sometimes I will have a diet pepsi but don't like to drink it in the evening because of the caffeine. I may start drinking lemonade on its own, as long as I don't start wishing there was malibu or something in it!
If I open a can of caffiene free and sugar free coke I always expect to find an empty can! How can it have neither in it!!!0
