sade38, don't bother coming back to say this is a good firm as you will not be believed.

This is your first post and people have no history of other topics you have posted on to believe you are anything other than a stooge for this scam.
  • oh my god, its soo boring on here now, wheres all the banter gone?? anyone from fdi on here today? we can kick off another argument. great fun ay!!
  • who would like to buy my shed?
  • I paid these people £113.85 for a valuation and was immediately suspicious with the valuers over enthusiasm and a valuation of £25,000 more than I was asking for the house. On receipt of my confirmed offer I rang my credit card company to check that there was no way that they could take any more money from my card and they said 'no'. I then rang first direct and said that I was not willing to pay the £915.40 for the confirmed offer but would gladly pay them £4000 for a confirmed sale. They 'iffed & affed' so I said £5k and then £10k, lots of BS from them and said they would consult with the manager,I did not hear from them again. I sent all this info. and paperwork to my credit card people not to ask for my £113.85 back but to warn them and hopeful that they could upset this scam.A couple of weeks later I get a letter from my credit card people referring to my recent dispute with first direct for£915.40. obvious confusion from them and a very quick phone call from me.First direct had taken/stolen this money from my account. Luckily my earlier phone call to my credit card had been recorded and they have refunded my money pending investigation, however I did not get a satisfactory answer as to why it was allowed to be taken considering my call and their response, but they are not the bad guys here. First direct are not just con merchants they are thieves, they took money from my account without any authority. BE WARNED!
  • Have you seen their website today...? I wish I came here four months ago and saved myself the heartache. HAS anyone ever completed with them?

    From their website:
    TO WHOM IT MAY CONCERN:
Further to recent litigation brought by a certain banking group, we can no longer trade as First Direct Investments. This information was leaked to our investors which as a result, affects all of our customers.
We regrettably have to inform you that with prime investors no longer wishing to complete transactions for fear of legal implications with a certain banking group, we have been forced to cease trading with immediate effect.
To all our customers, who have paid for services via debit or credit card, please check your bank and or credit card statements as the company has taken steps to refund your money wherever possible.
If you have not received a refund as of yet, this may be due to you having paid by alternative methods, so please be patient as you will be contacted in due course to make the necessary arrangements.
First Direct Investments understand that this is the worst outcome for the company and you as the transactions have now come to a close.
We recommend that you now take steps to re-market your properties through other means of sale.
Our deepest apologies and regrets as this turn of events was not anticipated. We wish you all the success for the future.
    First Direct Investments (INT) Limited

  • this company has closed......check out their website.........they are promising to pay back any money already paid to them.......what a scam!!!!!!!
My friend was taken in by them.............
  • Well, so was I and a friend, both of us in dire trouble now we have no buyers for properties... and solicitors expenses to deal with too!

Notice they say they will refund money "wherever possible...?"
  • OK, I'll admit it: Me too.

All the laughing and jokes aside (For those not affected, please do not add insult to injury). I think we need to get together and see what action we need to take to catch them.

Since they are obviously monitoring this forum, I am reluctant to divulge information here and would rather form a closed group of victims and perhaps some genuine, long-standing members. (As you can see, I just registered myself. Can someone help us, please?)

Only so much advice at this point: Do stop any card details you have given them IMMEDIATELY. Unfortunately, it may be too late already. Instead of refunding you, they are taking (or may already have taken) the fee a second time.

All is not lost. They have made mistakes and it is not impossible to catch them, but I need your help.

Once we have a secure communication area, we can use this thread again to agree on a vetting procedure to make sure everyone is who they say they are. Only then I can tell you more.
  • My parents were using First Direct Investments and I even recomended it to friends of mine. They have gone into liquidation but we have received all of our money back, all of us. so I don't understand where the scam is.

It doesn't work out commercially. If I was going to take a risk of these proportions and mess people around like this I would want to be walking away with much more than a few hundred quid per deal. I feel scammed but I can't see what they've gained.
