I got offered ESPN for £1 as I already have Sky. I'd threatened to leave and they gave me a 25% discount on my entire bill and £1 for ESPN for ever. Beats Setanta.

Its an absolute scandal the wee clubs chose Setanta last year and are now bleating about losing money.. ( thats off my chest now :) )

hold off buying the new subscriptions folks!

"Sky has stated its commitment to bringing premium channels such as Sky Sports to other secure platforms, but only at a "fair price".
This follows comments from incoming BT Vision chief executive Marc Watson about the future provision of Sky's premium sports content on his platform.
Speaking to The Independent, Watson said that he hopes to start offering the full Sky Sports package to BT Vision customers at a reduced price in time for the 2010-11 English Premier League season.
Watson's plan would be dependent on Ofcom's proposal to introduce a wholesale pricing model to encourage Sky to free up access to its premium content for rival TV providers.
If the regulator pushes ahead with this plan, then BT Vision would be able to offer Sky Sports to its customers for around £15 per month, which would potentially force Sky to reduce its own prices."

If BT Vision get to sell Sky Sports for 15 quid Sky will have to reduce their package and if enough of us dont get ESPN they will reduce their package :)

But why buy ESPN when so many games are on Sky?

As an Aberdeen fan there are hardly ever any Aberdeen games on tv. We had Setanta and were about to cancel before they went bust because of this.

So I take it the ESPN channel I get thru Sky now is not the one the football will be on? £9 for one extra channel?!?!?!?

For the small amount of Dons games that will be on, I will just watch the ones on Sky, not bother paying out extra for ESPN and just go to Pittodrie.

... always hated the way Sky have ripped off punters at every turn... have basic 3 bundle, had Sports 1 and then they started showing good games on anything but SS1 to hook us all to upgrade.

I admired Setanta's no commit, monthly deal..so I'm not joining this party.

Justintv on the PC and a PC screen projector for me I'm afraid

I feel your pain there dosh mate. However, I couldn't watch an entire season with the JustinTv quality - Would kind of nullify the benefits of having my 42" LCD flatscreen!
