E Credit plus Shopping Card

I've just threatened them with legal action if they don't remove my details from their database. Received an e-mail last night after applying for a loan with another company and clicked on some other option about a line of unsecured credit. Before you know I have the e-mail saying they'll take 39.95 and then 19.99 per month. Plus, when I buy from them I "only" have to pay shipping, processing and VAT. Tried to phone but it was after five so immediately withdrew all money from my account and called them this morning. Politely but firmly explained that I want nothing to do with them and to delete my account details. They said my details would be kept in their "innactive account database" in case I changed my mind. I replied that neither of those thing would happen only to be told that they couldn't delete my details. I asserted that they most certainly could under the the terms of the Data Protection Act (just an educated guess to be honest) and then threatened them with legal action.
My details have been sent to their "legal department" for processing. Hmmm0 -
These people took £99.95 from my card when i didnt apply for anything with them.
I noticed it the second day when the fraud department in my bank rang me. I asked them to cancel the card straight away but they had still let the transaction through anyway which took me overdrawn.
When i rang ecredit the following day, they agreed to put my money back BUT THIS IS WHERE THE SCAM REALLY BEGINS.
Its been almost 4 weeks and i ring them everyday. The money is still not in my account and their advisors are the most rudest and robotic you will ever encounter.
They talk to you like crap. You can also hear their so called director Christine Schaney telling them what to say in the background but when you ask to speak to her, they say she's in a meeting.
My bank has searched their entire database for the funds they have supposedly refunded but they are no where to be found. But ecredit keeps saying "ask your fraud department to ring us" bla bla bla.
Even the trace number ecredit gave me does not exist and my fraud department cant get through to this Christine Schaney ever!!!
I have reported them to the financial omsbudsman yesterday, so now i am waiting to see if that actually gets me my money back.
Its been so hard dealing with these robots.
AVOID THEM BECAUSE THEY WILL TAKE £99.95 OUT OF YOUR ACCOUNT AND CONTINUE TO TAKE MORE EVERY MONTH IF YOU LET THEM.0 -

Look I dont mean to be rude, but they cant take money from you unless you stupidly put your card details on their site.
I am not stupid thus I dont have any transactions from them on my bank statements, and I am not likely to, ever.0 -

Not being nasty here, but these threads are becoming a bit boring now with the same quotes like 'they took money from my account', you need to ask yourself how did they get hold of my bank details in the first place!!!0 -

Have you never heard of people having their details compromised or their cards cloned before?
You must be living a very sheltered life. How they got my details i dont know. But i do buy things online and i do use my debit card so ofcourse my details were compromised for it to be used to apply for credit from e-credit plus.
I hope it happens to you oneday so that you will realise that the people voicing thei rconcerns about this company did not all hand their details over to this company.0 -

Crimes do happen. Innocent people get scammed and hurt all the time as a result of criminal activity. And you dont have to be stupid or a bad person for it to happen to you.0 -

Sorry but if your card details were cloned wouldn't they have ran up some serious debt with your card details instead of going through the hassle of filling out an application for a shopping (store card)?0 -

:rotfl: Good point! I thought card scammers went for plasma screens, gambling transactions and other big ticket items. Not a discount off a pair of trousers.0 -

Are you saying that an organized thief cloned your card details and used them to sign up with E-credit plus??0
