Hi, Please could I ask for some help & advice. We've booked to go to Orlando. Only booked it last Friday. Found what we thought was a brilliant last minute deal. So now I'm researching park tickets. Only going for a week. Really want to do Universal, Epcot, Animal Kingdom, Disney Hollywood Studios and Sea World. It might work out too expensive for all so might need to reduce the list. Could anyone recommend which tickets to buy. Been looking at day passes but I'm finding it quite difficult as there are so many websites. Also some say the tickets are posted to you - I'd need to receive them electronically. Would it work out better to purchase on the day?
thanks so much in advance for any tips!0 -

Hi, that sounds like a very expensive ticket combo for only a week
I can't recommend (I'm not sure it's even possible to get electronic tickets for certain theme parks) but ask on https://www.thedibb.co.uk - someone there will know. Purchase on the day is really pricey, but with what you're asking for, it's going to be poor vfm any way. Tickets get proportionately cheaper the more days you do.0 -

What you are looking to do is the most expensive set of tickets you can go for. The disney, universal and seaworld are all separate companies and will sell tickets separately. There is no such thing as a one for all ticket. Companies advertise them but in reality they are separate tickets. You can of course buy single day tickets for all these parks but again that is the most expensive way to do it. You only have a week and need to prioritize. Either just do Disney or Universal. If you are doing Disney then one of the American tickets is your cheapest option, perhaps a 6 day Magic Your Way. If its universal then the UK tickets are cheapest option.0 -
Can anyone give advice on both the Hilton Doubletree at SeaWorld and the Homewood Suites on International Drive. I have gotten good prices for both, with Homewood being more expensive due to breakfast being included. I am particularly interested in comparing location, access to shuttles, room facilities.
Thanks
Lynne
Hi I have just booked Homewood Suites on International drive , I booked it because of its great location and also there are free snacks and drink ( Monday- Thursdays) inclusive of Free Breakfast everyday, so I think its worth it for that alone. Homewood is a partner hotel for Universal Studios . BTW It would be interesting to know what price you got !0 -
Could somebody assist me please or give opinions? I'm planning on flying to Orlando to visit family. There will be 4 Adults (Parents and Grandparents of the kids) and 2 under 2 year olds. We live in Aberdeen and would like to book flights.
Would people suggest flying from Aberdeen airport (a short taxi ride away) via Frankfurt/Amsterdam/Paris or driving for nearly 3 hours and flying direct from Glasgow?
I can't decide what would be best!!0 -
Personally I know nothing about Orlando holidays but having flown to the US with kids I would say drive 3 hours and fly direct. Flying via another airport usually takes much longer and you end up rushing through that airport afraid of missing your connection or sitting around for ages whilst tired, bored and uncomfortable. I would only do it if you made a big saving on flights (like £100 per person). HTH
Bear in mind though that on the way back home you will be shattered and might not be up to a 3 hour drive straight off the plane.1% at a time no. 40. £8000 (For dream family holiday) 94/100
MFW 2013 no. 62 £10,000/£10,000
MFW 2014 no 62 £8000/£70000 -

I agree with the 3 hour drive after a US flight. I wouldn't do it, the jet lag affects me so much on the return journey, if i thought i had to drive for 3 hours, i'd book a taxi to get me home.0 -

Me too, did it once, never again. Taxi for a three hour trip would be costly, though
We take the train.
One good reason to fly indirect is if it frees up local airports - you should consider the commute to your starting airport as part of the total travel time. We've flown to the US many times, both direct and indirect, and I'm a big fan of indirect when it saves money. Consistently we've been able to save £350+ per person for school summer holidays by going indirect. For a family, that's a huge huge saving.
I do have rules with indirect flights though, concerning which hub I will transit through (will never go out of the way), connection time, money saved etc.0 -
Hi we're going to Florida next October half term and the week before.
How busy is it then? We're probably going to spend more time in Universal, and are contemplating buying the fast passes to queue jump, but there seems little point if it's not that busy (and because there's 5 of us!)
any help would be appreciated:beer:0
