  • Hello All I have a choice of two apartment for our trip to Orlando

Blue tree Resort and Quality Suites Lake Buena Vista . They both have the same rating and cost more or less the same price £551 for 8 nights.
Breakfast included with Quality Suites .
Has anyone stay at either or have knowledge of the area , for transport , food and shopping . Also any recommendations for other hotels/apartments will be welcomed .
    Many Thanks
PS I will not be driving so Reliable public transport is of great importance.
  • Im looking to pay for Disney and Universal entry tickets within the next day or so for 2 adults and a child of 7 to Orlando Florida.
I would like to book these ASAP as I am travelling next Wednesday 18th September.

If someone can help me make a decent amount of savings with exactly the same theme parks included if not more, it would be much appreciated. Although would only like tickets and not vouchers.

My quotes below are from Floridatix.

    Disney 14 day ultimate ticket
All Disney parks including 2 water parks, ESPN, Disney Quest, Fantasia and various golf parks included.

    Adult £257.00 Child £237.00
Total of £751.00 (based on 2x Adult and 1x child)

Orlando Universal 3 park bonus for 14 days
    Wet 'n' Wild
    Universal Studios
    Island of Adventure
    City Walk

    Adult £111.00 Child £101.00
    Total of £323.00

2 Parks together for a total of £1074.00

This website did have a 5% off deal which would have been nice but it has now expired! : (
If you have a competitive saving, please keep in mind, I would like to attend the same parks above at least with tickets and not vouchers.
I look forward to hearing from you : )

Pennypinchers, have a look on thedibb website, all the regular ticket sellers are on there. If you buy from attraction tickets direct you get a free ticket for LEGOLAND orlando. They give you real tickets too. have a great time. x

If i were you, i'd stop shopping around, decide what you're prepared to pay and order them.

I wouldn't leave it any longer if i were you, you only have about 5 working days to receive the tickets. We always buy ours at least a month before we travel. If you've booked last minute, then i'd make sure you use a company who offer guaranteed delivery.

    Oh no, me again :rotfl:

I've stayed at the Blue Tree before. It's OK. I much prefer Cypress Pointe next door. I would describe it as a little dated, but nothing terrible. Lots of pools throughout the resort. No idea on the public transport, but you can walk to the edge of the Disney area from there - I'd guess half an hour or so?? It will be very hot indeed in August to do that, though.

I've not stayed at the other but know the location- similar but slightly better than Blue Tree (though I'd guess its going to overlook the interstate and could be very noisy if you get a room in that side).

Loads of eateries in the area, and a Winn Dixie supermarket is an easy walk from Blue Tree (ten minutes I'd guess).

Are there shuttles to the parks from either? We would've had a car so that wouldn't have been something I would have looked into.

Is there any reason you selected these? I'm not sure they are best for non drivers - they are ok but not ideal I'd suggest. How big is the apartment? I think we paid $50/night at Blue Tree for a one bedroom, and I would not have wanted to pay more.

Personally I would almost never book accommodation in Orlando before flights - there is masses of it and nailing the flight price first is the target (there are exceptions to this but not sure they apply here).

I've seen on your other thread there are five in your party - is that why you want a suite?
  • Hi Karen , thanks so much for your response , I am just trying to give the kids a great holiday they will never forget ! on a budget lol:j .
I need accommodation that will be comfortable for myself and the children ( 20,16,15 and 12) . both the apartments have shuttle service . I have no clue where to look for accommodation with good transport links, I was looking at International drive , but still clueless! although will go to Disney and Universal , I would like us to visit other attractions , or simply stay at the apartment for the kids to do other activities . Very much like what Blue tree resort provides, it would be lovely to have a choice other than Blue tree resort though . BTW , although I have booked both apartments . I have until next year to cancel for free.

If you can cancel for free, you've nothing to lose!

I do wonder if I Drive would be better for you, given you're not driving?? There are suite type accommodation there, Enclave Suites, Homewood Suites off the top if my head (not personally recommending, never stayed there). This is just my thoughts. Do ask on the Dibb, as you'll get better thoughts there. I think what you've found so far is a good start though.

What times do the shuttles run? I'd hate to arrive an hour after park opening and have to leave before the fireworks, so that's definitely something to check...
  • Hi Karen I am going to have to register with the dibbs, but I will look into the accommodation you have mention . Thank you for all the info .
    Many Thanks:beer:

Missaa, it's also worth checking the lynx bus timetables to see if they shape your opinion. Orlando is not too badly served by buses by American standards. If you could find a hotel that is served by both a regular shuttle and a regular bus, as well as having amenities nearby such as shops and restaurants, that's probably a good bet as someone who doesn't want to drive there.
