    Hi all

Going to Florida for third time but never stayed at a Disney hotel. We are over there for 22 days this winter but just wanted to stay in a Disney hotel for 5 days (the minimum number to take advantage of free dining). I will be getting a 14 day Disney pass meaning we will probably go back for more than the 5/6 days of free dining. My question, which I suspect I already know the answer to is: Will I be given a free parking pass + free dining pass that only covers the days stayed at the hotel?

Free dining covers the time you are in a Disney property, it expires at midnight on the day of check out. This would be the same for free parking.

With Regards to park tickets in Florida , can you get away with getting a 3 year old in as an under 3 ? or do they ask for ID ?
He will be 3yrs 5 months , could save me hundreds !!

No Idea. Personally I wouldn't do it. If they asked your son how old he is, and he replied 'well, daddy said to tell you I am 2, but really I am nearly three and a half' - well, they could potentially ban you or something. It would be very embarrassing to say the least!!
  • We've been to Florida loads we've never been asked for ID
I've got twins who were nearly 10 on the lat visit and one looks much older. As they were only 9 they had kids tickets I was worried we would be asked but we weren't ...
Also the first time we went the boys had just turned 3 a few days before, I bought them tickets and some cast members (staff) did ask why we needed tickets as the boys isn't look old enough

That takes me back nearly 20 years, when we used to spend our summer holidays in Thomson 'Superfamily' hotels. I think you had to be 4 to get your kids into their kids club, and with our son's 4th birthday falling about a week after the holiday, we fibbed about his age to get him in. Not only that, we went to the lengths of giving him an early birthday party to convince him he was 4 in case they asked him how old he was!!
Anyway, everything passed off OK and the kids all had a fantastic time at the T-club. And we remained loyal customers of Thomson's for several years while the kids were young.

The difference is that in Disney parks you have to pass through turnstiles using a ticket which is scanned and your fingerprint is used to make sure it is your ticket. It's not quite as simple as just walking in ! There are 2 security points to go through before you get in the parks. One where your bags are searched and another at the turnstile itself.

No I'd asked for at any park..just park ticket and bag check...PS..you can take any reasonable food into Disney/universal parks..not SeaWorld parks though..only small snacks..bottled water etc..unless you have special dietary needs....we all turned gluten free for the day..

Not sure whether this is just for today, so be quick. Free guide to Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party, available from Amazon:

    http://www.amazon.co.uk/Mickeys-Not-So-Scary-Halloween-Complete-Disney-ebook/dp/B00FX9LGJM/ref=sr_1_1?s=digital-text&ie=UTF8&qid=1382217473&sr=1-1&keywords=Mickeys+not+so+scary+halloween+party

Ideal for Kindle or reading on tablet. This has nice reviews of the rides and eateries at the Magic Kingdom, so quite useful, even for people who aren't visiting at Halloween.

Can someone please post when this ends? Thanks.

ETA: Sorry... it has ended now. This was posted in the Orlando Sentinel and the book is part of a series, so may be worth keeping an eye out in case they do one on the Very Merry Christmas Party too.

Hope someone managed to get a copy before it was too late. I think the price went up at 5am this morning, ie in line with America date change.
