My fiancee and I are planning to travel to Florida in the first two weeks of Feb 2014.

    I have two main questions:

Is this a good time to hit the theme parks or not?

We will be mainly hitting these on the first week, based on this information where is the best place to get tickets?

I've looked into Orlanda Attractions and so far the 14 day OrlandoPassport (which I'm guessing is just a collection of tickets they organise for us) at £475 is looking like a hastle free option.

We will be staying on I-Drive and will not have our own transport!

Thank you for any help you can offer!

  • We are going to Orlando at the end of Nov and will visit universal studios.

I'm looking on their US website at the 2 day park-to-park plus unlimited express tickets.

We arrive on the 22nd and stay for 7 days. Planning to go to universal on 26th-27th.

Now if I select the 26th as my start date it says I can use the tickets on any 2 days between 26th-9th, but as the 26th is peak time it costs $310.

If I select 22nd as my start day I can use on any 2 days until 5th Dec but as the 22nd is off peak its only $240.

Do I need to visit the park on the 22nd if I select the cheaper option? It doesn't seem like I have to from the wording and the terms say:
Ticket is valid for any two (2) calendar days during a fourteen (14) consecutive calendar day period which includes the first day any portion of the ticket is used.

It says 'includes' rather than 'commences from'

It seems like a no brainer to me but I don't want to get stung if I turn up on the gate on the 26th!
  • Just after abit of advice.
Looking to go to Florida next June/July Myself and children (older teens) DH not coming hates theme parks, anything Disney and crowds.

Last went 5 years ago on own with children but didnt drive did Links bus, I trolley, stayed on I drive then Disney hotel so managed very well however would like to drive to space center and have more flexability etc.

. Firstly would like any advice on driving.
. Secondly what is the best place to stay in hotel, house, condo. and in which area and where to look for one.

Taking 2 older teens + 1 teens friend so if hotel would probably need 2 rooms.

    Thanks.

hiya buddy..weve just done 12 parks in 14 days and its quite hard work..you really need to spread the theme parks out over 14 days with water parks every couple of days for a chillout

Driving is very easy out there. I've driven the last few times we've visited and find it easier than over here. All the rental cars are automatic and besides the fact you are on the other side of the road the roads are really easy to navigate.

We tend to stay in a villa but that's just our preference. As you'll need two hotel rooms you'll probably find a villa or a condo is the cheaper option anyway. We've stayed in many different villa communities and prefer to stay off the US 27 which is about 15 mins from Disney. KSC is easy enough to get to and takes under 1 hr and a half. It is mostly toll roads though so make sure you have plenty of change or if you will be using toll roads frequently on your holiday you can purchase a sunpass along with your car rental which includes all toll roads.
  • Hi All,

I am going to Florida in Feb and i just got my Disney tickets at a slightly reduced price, I thought I would share.
orlandoattractiontickets.co.uk are currently offering the 14 day pass for £270 per adult, for the next 2 days. Its not a huge saving, but £15 is the price of a meal when we are there.
We used them last year as well when they had a flash sale and the tickets arrived within a couple of days. Florida trips can be expensive, so gotta save a bit where i can.
  • Hi, we are looking to go in April or May for 17nights (to give us a few days breather in between), 2 A & 2 C - any advice welcomed.

    - do the car hire companies issue car seats for kids?
    - not sure whether to do I-drive or Kissimere area as I heard car parking at the parks is expensive?
    - Is it best to book package or flight/acc sepearatley?
    - when do the deals start ie: new year or dont they really for Orlando.

As I said, any help advice etc where to start greatfully received

    Thanks lisa

Hoping to visit orlando for 2nd time In april with 13 & 15 year old. Thought about cheapish hotel for most of the time but splurging on a universal hotel for 3 days to get early entry/'fastpass' universal tickets. Any advice how I'd go about booking a 'dual hotel' option like this? Thanks I anticipation for any help
