Now for my own appeal for help.
What are travellers recommendations for good viewing places for the fireworks in the Disney parks. Are there restaurants for example where you can book a 'fireworks' view and enjoy dinner?
Actually another dinning thought. Recommendations for 'theme' dinners please:). We have 9yr old boys.
Thank you!0 -
Annual passes require proof of residency and a US social security number. Villas and car rental are easy to research and often cheaper than the package deals. Consider opting for an MPV like the 7 seater Dodge Caravan which is big enough but not too pricey.
The OP mentioned annual passes for a 3 week stay there is no requirement for either residency or a SS number UNLESS you try and buy a FL resident pass...we have non residents AP's for all parks as we visit between 8 weeks and 15 weeks a year.Bit of a Florida Fan :j

I have been to Florida a few times but....
A) Never with a 3 year old. How strict are they for park tickets for a 3 year old, he is extremely small for his age do they ask for proof of age?Do we need an I.D.P confused about this one?
ThanksLife is like a bath, the longer you are in it the more wrinkly you become.0 -
I would say no problems, never heard them ask for proof of age
We have got an IDP because we couldn't make our minds up if we should get it or not and for the small outlay thought it would be better to get it.0 -

We're planning to go next year, mainly for Disney.
I was thinking of early January but then started reading of frosts and it not being swimming weather...
Our 11 year old daughter definitely has water parks and swimming on her agenda!
Will there be much difference if we leave it until February or March?
We don't do crowds so holiday periods are definitely out and my husband would hate it too hot... We go to DLP in January/February as we love it quiet and are happy to cope with the cold. It's just the pools that are making me wary of Florida at that time.
Any thoughts from peeps who have been early in the year will be very welcome!0 -

From our experience, I wouldn't bother with trying to book a restaurant for a specific view. You don't book a table at a particular time, your booking is for a time slot so there is no guarantee of a particular table or exact time of eating. My husband had booked a Japanese restaurant to watch the fireworks at Epcot last year as it was my 40th birthday. He made this really clear at the booking but when we arrived, we were put into a queue to be seated with no guarantee of a window seat or of eating at the time we had planned to. All the booking guaranteed was that we would eat there that night. In the end, we cancelled and got a takeaway instead and watched the display from the lakeside and it was great - plus we hadn't spent around $100 on a potentially very disappointing experience."Harry, I'm going to let you in on a little secret. Every day, once a day, give yourself a present. Don't plan it. Don't wait for it. Just let it happen. It could be a new shirt at the men's store, a catnap in your office chair, or two cups of good, hot black coffee."0
