Any particular reason you want a newer community? Many of the ones that spring to mind are quite a lot further away? Emerald Island is hard to beat in terms of proximity to Disney.
No reason really it's just that my Sister in Law stayed on Emerald Island a couple of years ago and the property she stayed in was a little tired. We also have some pretty fussy people coming with us so just looking at options really. xxx0 -
I was wondering if anyone can help.
I want to go to Disney World FL early may 2014 for two adults.
Realistically, when's the best time to look at flights etc? The earlier the better or wait until nearer the time?
How much spends should we take each for 14 days? £1000? £1500?
I'm just trying to plan how much i need to save as i have no idea! Now for May 2013 i can do hotel, flights and car hire for 825pp based on today's prices. We're planning out of school season to avoid the kiddie crowd. Obviously in a year prices can go up dramatically but i needed a vague indication.Mortgage 1: May 2012 £90,000 April 2020: £47,000
Mortgage 2: £270,000😱 Jan 2019 £253,000 April 20200 -

If you're brave, May is one of the best times to get rock bottom flight prices, last minute. I'm not brave enough, but lots of success over the last couple of years with people doing that a few weeks before
Hard to say on spends - how much shopping are you planning? Does your budget include park tickets? What sort if dining do you prefer?0 -

Well we wouldn't be going to fancy restaurants, maybe one or two nice meals while we're there and we were planning on bulk buying on water and snacks during the day from wal-mart too.
I know you can get 14 days for the price of 7 park tickets which shows up as £250 ish and i don't plan on excessively going overboard on shopping because i'm not into american clothes! (although i may get a tacky t shirt!)Mortgage 1: May 2012 £90,000 April 2020: £47,000

I'm off to Florida end July for 3 weeks, haven't booked my flights as yet, what do you think my chances are of flight prices coming down over the next few months, they are currently £800 ish :-(0

It all depends what you get up to, I suppose...If you do the works...disney, universal, seaworld, busch gardens, discovery cove etc etc, one way or another, you're going to spend a lot on tickets. Obviously fast passes etc will cost you even more. If, on the other hand, you just want a bit of time at Disney and some time on the beach, you'll spend less...Are you going to hire a car? Are you planning on seeing any shows? Cirque du soleil, blue man group (awesome!) - even things like medieval times (equally awesome) - it all adds up....
And then there's food...you say you'll bulk by snacks - so will you eat those instead of lunch?
Will you breakfast out, or have some cereal in your room? If you go out for breakfast and aren't being fussy, it's probably going to cost best part of $10/day each, unless you stick to the cheapest buffet places....14 nights is a long time, so all of a sudden you're looking at spending best part of $300 on breakfasts, which is a good chunk of a £2k budget (although totally worth it...mm, IHOP)
You really need to be very clear about what you see yourself doing each day - then you can add it all up and work out a budget from there...0 -

LO Tracey, Can recommend Windsor Hills ,just off the 192.
Or a 3 bed condo at Vista Cay Resort, Universal Boulevard.
Have a look at both websites and check web for offers. Hope this helps.:D0
