However I do hope that if the ride goes tech in your time window they will honour the FP, that would only be fair.

Other sites are saying there will be exceptions when a ride has gone down or a meal has delayed you (evidence of a meal delay though?), but it wont affect me hugely.

Slightly more worrying though, is the rumour that this is all leading to a new xpass which will allow luxury resort guests to pre book slots on rides, shows etc way before they arrive on holiday much like the present ADRs -at a price of course and resulting in reduced regular fastpass availability.

Something IS happening. They are investing heavily in RFID technology, trialling wristbands, adding RFID chips to tickets and they already have the chips in some refillable cups, which de-activate the cup at the end of stay. RFID readers are in place at Epcot.

    http://www.insidethemagic.net/2011/11/disney-world-begins-testing-rfid-theme-park-entry-at-epcot-without-turnstiles/

There is enormous potential for detailed information to be stored- birthdays, names, meal reservations, card and accommodation details for example, but methinks it will be costing a lot of Disney cash to implement and it won't just be about faster gate entry!
  • Thanks KarenG and Blue_Monkey, she found videos on youtube of people meeting them, so wasn't sure if it was a one off or a regular thing. Will have to resist temptation to buy any more merch, I had a NBC Christmas tree this year :)

Maybe I am wrong then but we have never seen them as they are my favs too :) I know that Princess Tiana took another characters place so maybe they used to be there, the only logical place for them to be is around the Haunted Mansion area.

I would ask at Town Square on the day - or even drop an email over to Disney and ask if it is seasonal. I've not been there for the 1st week of Xmas so maybe they appear then - we went to the Xmas party too but I did not see them there either.

ETA: I've looked on Youtube and there is one of them in New Orleans Square which I believe is at Disneyland Park which is in California.

ETAA - I googled some more they definately do not appear at WDW - they will be at DLP for Halloween if that is of any help, they do appear at California though. People have been complaining: http://www.charactercentral.net/Forum/topic291-jack-and-sally-coming-for-halloween-at-wdw.aspx
  • Hi guys, I'm looking to book Florida for Feb 2013 and have tried a few of the popular online travel companies Thompson, Thomas Cook etc but I'm hoping someone can point me in the direction of other travel agents that I can try before I buy, so to speak.

We will be taking our 6yr old DD, so Disney is a must.

I have a million questions but I'll start slow. Thanks.

Hi Sar, personally I always find dial a flight the cheapest. Because I live in n. ireland we need connecting flights usually to manchester or gatwick and i find they come out cheaper even with the connecting flight added.

They last time I phoned them they quoted me £4000 roughly for 3 weeks in July 2 adults and 2 kids, all flights, 3 bed villa and a sports car (oh's dream car) for hire. I always thought this was a good deal, but I'd still be interested to hear if anyone think thinks this is expensive.

We are a group of 9 going in June the youngest is 14, as we have an 18th birthday, a golden wedding and another birthday at the same time we were thinking of doing the pirate show one evening. Has anyone been and what can you tell me about it as trip advisor ranges from worst con show ever to fantastic time so i am not sure what to believe.
    Thanks

Can't vouch for the pirate show, but did a western one when I was younger and medieval times last year - they're just the most fun! Such a good night out. As long as you don't go expecting a fine dining experience, you should have a good laugh.

I'm taking my son out of school for the 2nd week of our holiday, the 1st week is half term. His school have started refusing to authorise holidays from this year which means i'm taking him out unauthorised now but I don't have any problems with that.
