Re footwear for the parks - I can thoroughly recommend these for the ladies: http://www.clarks.co.uk/find/Department-is-women/ProductType-is-sandals/product-is-20310583

I bought a pair of these in 2006 specifically for walking around the parks on our Florida trip of that year. Initially I was in two minds because they're not the prettiest of things, but I couldn't bear the thought of walking round all day in socks and trainers (especially squelchy trainers after a water ride!) and flip flops make my feet ache after a while, so I bit the bullet and thought to myself so what if they're not fashionable, I'd rather have comfy feet than sore feet, and painted my toenails a nice bright colour.

They have got to be one of the best footwear purchases I've ever made! It was like walking on air. Feet stayed cool and fresh all day and they dried very quickly after getting drenched on the water rides. And no need to take them off for any dangly leg rides! They have been used on every holiday since then, and again when we went to Florida again this year. They've been through the washing machine a few times and still look almost as new!

I've got a pair of fit flops, and they are very comfy but I would choose my Clarks over them every time for the parks. They do come in a couple of other colours, but the light sandy colour is less obvious on the feet, especially with a tan LOL!

Another vote for these Clarks, I've had a similar pair for about 5 years, they are the second most comfiest footwear item (after my Uggs). I have put mine in the washing machine numerous times and they are still holding up well!

Seeing as we are on footwear tips here's mine.

Wear whatever is comfortable that you usually wear, but.....

before putting your shoes/trainers/socks/whatever on in the morning put on some cream based antiperspirant/deodorant on you feet and rub it into the soles of your feet and toes.

That way your feet wont sweat all day long and you wont get any blisters. Beleive me i've done Orlando with blisters and it's nasty, this works everytime!

  • Hello, advice on theme park tickets, please! I'll be buying flexticket plus, the cheapest I've seen so far is £163 adult £150 child with gotoexplore.com. Anyone heard of them, are they OK? Also what happens with kids under 3 as my youngest will be only just 3 when we get there - do you need proof of age for free entry? Thanks for any help.
  • Hi there,

I've just seen a deal on the attraction tickets direct website. If you pay for one of these tickets at £10.00 each child, the child eats free whenever an adult orders a main meal (think it's for the duration of your holiday). There are over 130 restaurants in Orlando to choose from.

Has anyone else ever purchased one and is it as good as it sounds? By the sounds of it, this would save me a fortune!

    Many thanks

You can take a photocopy of her birth cert round with you :)

Thats not a bad price at all for the flexticket6, we were thinking about buying it there ( on the gate ) as the exchange rate a bit better at the mo. Ill take a look, Ive been looking a bit today and many are 168
 Well aint funny how its the little things in life that mean the most? Not where you live, the car you drive or the price tag on your clothes.
Theres no dollar sign on piece of mind
    This Ive come to know...
So if you agree have a drink with me, raise your glasses for a toast

Hi Donna, the last time I went to Orlando, kids under 9 and older in some places ate free pretty much everywhere we went so not sure it's worth it- I suppose it depends on what age they class a child to be

I would not bother with the kids eat free cards to be honest. The places they are valid are pretty low quality and in many restaurants now allow you to have kids eat free on certain days anyway.
