I've been reading about how bad the weather is on The Dibb, I forgot you was there at the moment. I am sorry that your holiday got spoiled whamfam. A short shower is not too bad but constant heavy rain is not funny and you can never dry out properly in a hotel either. I have heard that it is still going and is forecast until Tues.

I remember DLP when it did that and after 3 hours I said enough. First time I had ever said that and called a halt on our theme parking but our coats and shoes were still wet the next day as well and we had to buy more (at DLP prices too....!!!)
it dint really bother us, we had 11 days of 80+ heat, we chilled in room, went to wonder works in taxi and ordered takeaways so were fine, the beauty of florida is that there is always something to do

Which? Saratoga or Key West - both 1 bed Villas, same price. Will be 2 adults, a 4 year old and a 1 year old. Only plan on doing Magic Kingdom and Animal Kingdom.

Old Key West Pros and Cons
One bedrooms are really big compared to the Saratoga ones
    Nice laid back tropical theme
Food choice more limited, restaurant is nice but the counter service option is limited
Ground floor rooms can have overhanging foilage which blocks views
    Many blocks don't have lifts

    Saratoga Pros and Cons
Great location, easy walk to Downtown Disney from most rooms
Nice views from practically every room (specifically designed to achieve this)
    Upscale upstate New York themeing
    New pool area

Both are big, sprawling resorts with nice main pool areas with waterslide and a variety of smaller quiet pools. One beds are spacious with full kitchen facilities, washer / dryer, balcony. Location is similar (basically next door to each other). You can walk to Downtown Disney from OKW but it's over a mile and a bit of a trek. There is a nice boat ride from both resorts to Downtown Disney. Both are fully serviced by WDW buses.

Anyone (Blue Monkey or KarenG esp) any hints/tips for making the most of an 8 day onsite stay at OKW using DxDDP?

    LOL....

I've never done DxDDP, but if I did, I'd book as many signatures as I could possibly squeeze in :D have you got a short list?

Any thoughts where we should stay/visit?

We land in Tampa 8th December at 17:45.
We fly out of Miami on 27th December at 20:45.

We have children 4 and 9.

Not really on a budget, don't want to waste TOO much money though. We'll do the Disney/Orlando bit first I guess, then spend Christmas in the Keys....

Well, finally feels like it is going to happen, I've booked some accomodation.

Days 5-12 - Staying a 2 bed town house in Kissimee on a gated community called Encantada. We are in Club la Costa and this is one of the resorts we can go to - usually we bank the weeks int RCI but I got an email from them and thought ah-ha, how did I forget?.... We are going to use this as our base for Kennedy, Universal, Airboats, etc.... because we have paid for it so we might as well. Silly to pay for somewhere just because it is near Universal as we will have a car that week. Will be strange to have a house instead of a room or apartment and we have requested a pool (not all of the 2 beds have a pool but not overy fussed tbh).

Day 12-14 we are staying at BLT.

Days 1-5 we will stay in a Disney resort again - we will but DVC points from someone.

We have bought points from someone over on the Dibb and it is costing £312 for the 2 nights in BLT. Bargain!!!!!

We are waiting to see if our RCI exchange comes up with anything we want, if not I think we might book into BWV for the first 5 nights using DVC points again.

Hi AP holders - I have a couple of questions please, I am trying to find out if it is worth buying AP this year and if some cheap flights come out, we can have a sneaky trip over - even if just for a weekend (am I actually saying that!!!!!).

I would like to find out the price of 5 nights at PORR in the Royal Guest Rooms and the price of the Disney Dining Plan (the middle option, not quick service) starting 8 April 2012.

Would I be able to buy and AP on the phone and book hotels at the same time?

And if I buy an AP for myself now, would I be able to buy AP for the rest of the family when we arrive and get them cheaper.....?? Probably not but it's worth a try. :D
