We were the same - I hated the Int drive one at Sand Lake road - only went 'cause it was the Worlds Biggest - but hated every minute - there were women fighting in the car park and a lot of 'dodgy characters' but there are plenty of other ones you can use it - we went to the one in Walmart a few times - in Turkey Lake Road
No Longer addicted to Boots! - Well not today anyway!! :blushing:

We felt quite scared in that McD's, i agree there were a lot of odd people, there didn't seem to be too many tourists in there. We went to a couple on H192 as we've usually stayed in villas around that area, they were much better. I found the drive throughs quite challenging ! The staff seemed to have a problem with my accent, i'm from Yorkshire !

To be honest we tried to stay away from McD's, there are far better places to eat. We liked Outbacks, Cracker Barrel, The Cheesecake Factory (my favourite !) but we cooked quite a lot too in the villa. The takeaways are good though, but you don't get many Indian Takeaways, it's mainly Chinese, Pizza etc.

We've been to Florida a few times now and we love it, we've had some fabulous villas, but i would never stay on International Drive, unless someone offered me a free holiday !

Oh Meer 53 - we loved the Cheesecake factory - our favorite place too during our visit! The food was delicious and had no room for cheesecake but ordered anyway ( we couldnt not) and took it home for supper! We stayed in suites down at Palm Parkway in Lake Beuna Vista and loved that part of town - handy for disney and not to far to universal either.

I know it sounds odd to go to Florida and eat Shepherds Pie (in 100+ degree temperatures, thank God for Air Con !) but The Cheesecake Factory make the best Shepherds Pie i have ever eaten, anywhere !

  • We're off to Orlando for my Mum's 60th birthday in December (6 adults & 5 kids). My parents are paying for the holiday so I want to make her birthday a day she'll never forget. Does anyone have an ideas what I can do? Any advice appreciated!

We went with orlando attraction and got their - The Real Deal Tickets - this included 14 day ultimate Disney pass, and 14 day Orlando Flexi Ticket for 5 parks The adult price is £378 and kids £343.

The chap Simon ( he is based at office in England - they have other office in Kissimmee) we dealt with was great - we left it to a fortnight before we went to get the tickets and he delivered them to our hotel so they were there on our arrival - he even threw in free kids eat free cards. I done a lot of shopping around and they were working out the cheapest for what we were looking for. Was a bit worried buying on the net especially for the amount of money involved - but worked out great - would recommend - we got him through a recommendation on the dis boards.

Thank you so much for your reply. Is it possible for you to link me to the site?
  • Another question (maybe when I get back I will be able to answer some)! I have just been advised to take a cheap buggy for my son as he will get very tired - the thing is he will be 8 in December, does he really need a buggy?

My daughter will be 8 when we go and I have no intention of taking a buggy. I can just imagine her reaction if I tried to put her in one lol, she would think I had gone crazy, having not been in one since age 2. Does he have a medical condition as he may need one then?
