Has anyone stayed at the staybridge suites at lake buena vista? Jsut wondered what they were like, they offer free breakfast everyday and have some free evening snacks. Just wondered if this is 1 to go for or avoid!!!

We stayed there for 17 nights last May. Great location, could walk to lots of restaurants, supermarket and chemist. Suite was massive with full kitchen, range cooker, microwave and big fridge freezer and dishwasher. The two room suite had 3 two full bathrooms and 3 tellies! Free internet using ethernet cable or free use of computer downstairs. Kitchen and bathroom cabinets were a bit tired and furniture was dated, but everything was spotless, cleaned every day with loads of clean towels.

Breakfast was fine - serve yourself cereals, yoghurt, chopped fruit salad plus a couple of hot choices (sausage or bacon and scrambled egg). Lots of bakery things - croissants, muffins, cake etc. Also make your own waffles - the kids liked this! It got a bit monotonous after a couple of weeks but perfectly adequate and filling.

Kids loved the pool - not massive but warm and hotel kept a few toys out so they had stuff to play with.

The snacks in the evening were hot dogs one night, chilli another night, BBQ a third night plus beer or wine or juice and crisps. Not exactly a full meal but after a long day it saved cooking!

I'd definitely recommend (couple plus 9 and 6 year old boys)

Thanks for the replys re the staybridge suites, weve booked 2 3bed suites for the 7 of us. We tend to put the teens and 20 something in one and the other for the older ones! Weve taken the plunge and booked with cosmos. Got upgrades for £99 each on the flights with monarch. Only 15 months till our holiday next september lol !!!!!! Plenty of saving time.

I am also hoping to visit things like ripley's believe it or not, wonderworks, wet and wild, aquatica.
HHHHMMMM although i dont think i'll get to do all this,
Most of my days i would ideally like to be in one of the parks and do the other things in the evening's.

Hiya spoonk, if you are not worried about waterparks then look at a Magic Your Way ticket with the park hopper option. http://www.orlandofuntickets.com/Park-Hopper/ If you only want to be there for 5 days then get a 5 day ticket and then (I believe) you can add days on when when you arrive for $3 a day. Can someone confirm this please.

In regards to the waterparks, they close at 5pm usually, leaving you the evenings to go and do something else so you could go to W&W and then get the trolley down to Ripleys and Wonderworks (could do both of those in one night). Same with Aquatica as it is near ID.

By the time the night parades and fireworks have finished you usually end up spending the evening in the parks so you need to take this into consideration as well, this is why the Magic Your Way ticket with hopper is your best purchase.

For us we feel it is a long way to go to end up being restricted by what you can and cannot do for the sake of £50.

    Enjoy your holiday too.

Im not REALLY bothered about the waterparks but might be a good idea to take a break from the walking and waiting in line and of course we will get to see more.
Many thanks again for your input it has been the best help.

    Not in their waterparks :D

Take your walking legs and carrying arms - there are a LOT of steps, usually carrying a HUGE tube and the rides seem to be quite spread out. :D

Seriously, it is worth it I promise!! I have heard that weekends are quietest, when we went it was about 75 degrees and the only people there were the English!

Totally agree with the Monkey that is Blue, the waterparks are PHENOMENAL. Love them! I've always understood that the weekends were the busiest time for the waterparks (due to locals attending which they tend not to at the main theme parks, bizarrely!), all the guidebooks I've seen tell you to avoid them at weekends.

Personally, on a first visit there is SO much to see and do that places like Ripleys / Wonderworks are not worth doing. JMHO :)

Hi Karen, we went at the weekend and it was quiet, parks were packed though so I guess it is going to depend on the weather. If you get a day that is in the high 70's, early 80's it is too cold for the locals so they stay away. Lightweights!!!!! I remember on the last week, we was in t-shirts and shorts and you could tell people that were locals as they were in their big Disney wool coats to the floor and scarves, hats and gloves. Did make me smile, it was hot!!

We did not wait long in many queues but we was exhausted from carrying the tubes up and down - especially if you have to carry the childs as well.

We did Ripleys and Wonderworks on our first trip there but have never been again. We intended to on our last trip but never got there. You can fit them both in in an evening. The Magic Show is good as well, you get fed too so takes the same amount of time as going out for a meal and you get a show as well.

I've never been to either and I've been to Orlando something like 35 times now! It took us until about the 20th to get to SeaWorld...

BM and Karen are right spoonk1, there really is a lot to do. The Disney waterparks are a class apart though, not concrete monstrosities like you find in other parts of the world.
